I have no need to swear i think i can make my point without swearing regardless of the company i am with. Anna x I agree. There is a time and place for everything. But I believe those who choose to use those words on the regular are not behaving as if they have class. We wouldnt walk around unbathed , people would call us a bum. But somehow, having a filthy mouth doesnt imply anything,,,,? I think everything makes an impression, from how we choose to speak (and when) to how we dress and carry ourselves. I'm really glad I could gave a rats azz what others think of me... I can swear and be called classless or go without bathing and be called a bum..and could give a flying ***k in a rolling doughnut what others think.. awww, it's so liberating to each their own,,, |

who is to say what is swearing and bad should society control the manner in which one expresses themselves what is the difference if they use the "f bomb" or some other word meaning the same thing only substituted (like truck) heard this many times myself what if a group of people were offended by the name }gay} this was a name given to girls back in the 40s and 50s should this word be banned as well and what should the punishment be for breaking the censorship rule should any none indangering statement be banned (yes yelling fire in a movie theater or some simular place is inciting panic which causes erratic and paniced behavior thus leading to possible injury (unless of course there is a fire i guess lying in general is a bad thing should it be against the law to lie interesting very interesting adj, gotta love ya,, you make such simple things so complex... Why have language at all> who decided that love was a good thing and the green stuff in my pocket should be called money? Why dont we all walk around, make up our own words and decide for ourselves what they should imply......lol |

wtf is wrong with using the word f%#k. Its the beginning of life, and what we all love to do the most... well most of us anyways... so............. This post brings me such overwhelming sadness. If nothing else by what it implies. Do people really believe that life begins with the action or the choice? I refuse to believe that the energy/love that you express for Roberta in romantic exchanges or the energy/love that someone uses to choose to bring a human beinging into this world is anything remotely as base and striped away off careing, feeling, passion, intent, desire, or satisfaction as the real word F--- actually represents. Yes popular culture has attempted to add different implied meanings, but really is misuse, of the F-word doesn't mean it is useful. It is giving a word a generic meaning that leaves out the extream definitions and the nuances that really could exist if someone would expand their vocabulary. Most swearing is just a bad habit of lazy speech. I believe that people most often start out useing swear words to seperate themselves from one group, often generation or social group or try to insert themselves into another. You may be able to swear like a Pirate but that doesn't make you a sailor. Just because a four year old (or less) can pronounce four letter words doesn't mean they know what they are saying or are grown. What I don't get is how does useing a term of insult in the presence of a peer or especially a friend build comradery? It sounds so stupid to me to call names in general but when you call someone a name that is not gender approriate or suggests they sexually abuse someone especially a parent is either homophobic or makes the term "takes on to know one" come to mind. I really do believe that a lot of the use of swear words in media is just for attention or and effort to market to a certain age bracket; generally younger or immature people or sub-cultures. Generally speaking guys in prison are not going to admit to likeing to listen to Disney but don't kid yourself they are a million dollar market. |
