Does anyone else have a friend like this? I call them "one uppers" cuz they always seem to try to get one up on you and make them sound better, or worse, or whatever it is than you. You know the ones... you say you lost 10 lbs, they lost 30 lbs. You had a rough childhood but theirs was far worse. I have one of those "friends" I'm deal with right now and she's driving me crazy!

Not a close friend but a guy that worked with my late husband was like that.. Used to drive me up the wall!

the only time I have seen that is at the local bar. the guy's intentionally one up each other to the point that it's crazy
 kind of like those stories "the one that got away" the fish is always bigger each time told and bigger than the other persons

 plus its funny as hell to see the look on their face when they know they are caught..lmao.

wow I totally know what you are talking about. I had a friend like that and after awhile it just wasn't fun to be around them anymore. Sometimes it is nice to just give other people credit instead of always trying to steal their thunder.

i cant do it..im all about honest in every thing..i hear bs i call it out. nip it in the bud..then they learn i dont want to hear bs, and they eather settle down and talk normal or they get pissed and leave....yay..then i dont gotta dealvwith it...its win win

Try to avoid people like that like the plague. Grew up around someone like that and she always made everyone miserable. You really can't ever be friends because it is always a competition. Evenif you tell them it is like talking to a brick wall.

I had a friend like that once...he is no longer with us, last I heard he "fell" down some stairs and landed in "someone's" stoop...

Me too, I had a friend like this and it ended. One thing about this type of personality they become greatly offended if you point out what they are doing.
