That would be like saying anyone that listens to classic rock are stoners. Those that listen to heavy rock are hard drug heads, country music lovers all sit around and drink beer all day ect ya catch my drift....................... So no the way they treat their partner has nothing to do with what music they listen too hell if it did that means I would sit around all day smoking a joint with a beer in my hand raising hell all day longnoway :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

The shooters in the school shootings were into heavy metal Satan kind of stuff----might be something to it--maybe not??

Dude. I have been listening to Metal music since I was 12. I never had the urge to shoot up my school.

That's more a mental illness thing than a musical influence thing.

Just mentioned they were into it--thats all---dude!

I know. It just irritates me when people ( not you in particular ) try to blame music, rather than parental shortcomings for things like Columbine.

Come on! The parents had no idea at all that their children had stockpiled that kind of weaponry. If you are gonna point blame at something, at least learn enough to determine the facts of the situation you are talking about.

And why, exactly, did they have " no idea " that their kids were putting together an arsenal??

Ohhhh...cuz they didn't " see " the signs the boys involved were showing that would have meant they had some serious issues.

I would like to know how the parents are responsible for the mental illness of their children?

To assume that all children that are mentally ill are obvious about it is increbilly short sighted. Kids can do a lot when you are in the same room with them much less behind their back at school, friends houses, the mall, ect ect. Unless you are going to stand on top of your child 24/7 AND believe me I was a very strict parent they are going to get stuff past you. Not like they are going to announce they are doing things you would certainly ground them for.

Kids can and do find any number of ways to earn money that parents have no knowledge about. I don't know the particulars about Columbine but what little I read these boys were from Middle class families and the guns they stockpiled they got numerouse places besides their parents. Hunting rifles is nothing unusual in Colorado.

Alex listened to Beethoven (in A Clockwork Orange);
Apes prefer hard rock and alternative;
Whales like Barry Manitou;
Mushrooms and trees like Bach;
Wheets in the fields like the Bloomfield Outfielders.

So you think you could draw some inferences?

Shostakowitch and Ernest Hemmingway also liked Beethoven.

The younger Prince Phillip likes alternative.

Sharks like whales.

The entire staff at the Larry David studios like Bach;

And the Mothers of Bloomfield Outfielders also like The Papas And Mamas Of The Bloomfield Outfieders.

-----------

I don't think anyone could successfully and accurately predict a person's personality profile by only knowing the music they listen to.

I'd like to know how these parents checked out of paying attention to their kids. My doors weren't kept closed, and I couldn't hide things.

You're wasting your time, listening to the music of the Spice Girls. I found a much more constructive way of dealing with their CDs; I look at their pictures on the inserts until I get so worked up that explosion is a few seconds away.

More fun than their music, I am telling you.

i think some people gravitate to certain kinds of music because they identify with it in some way. people gravitate to beauty that they can see part of themselves in.

if someone told me they liked death metal... i'd be a weee bit concerned initially, but considering i know better than to think you're crazy jaggy, i give you a pass despite your taste in music :tongue: bigsmile

We always had a radio in the barn to keep the cows and the horses happy, usually some light rock, more soothing stuff. Don't have a barn now, or else I'd still do that.

My parakeets like hard rock, the louder the better.

The deaf dog likes bass music. She enjoys the vibrations rolling through, though it makes her hyper.
