It's amusing but shocking as well that some take the bible so literally. It's a book of contradictions that keeps it's readers confused and easily mis-led. It's no wonder that almost all conflicts and discriminations are created from it's writings.

There is much in the bible(or any large book) to nitpick over. It is not the simplest book to understand but it is not a book of contradiction because it is hard to understand.

Jeremiah verses was talking to a specific group about things they have done, for Jeremiah is out of the old testiment this is history things that have happened in the past is not something that will happen, already has happened.

John 9:39
29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

John 5:31
30I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

31If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true

these are just a couple of the verses mentioned and verses surrounding to give a better understanding of what Jesus was talking about in those specific verses. =

the verses mentioned out of John was only talking about Jesus telling us he is the one that will judge us and how he will judge us.

Oh yea, we could go on and on about the contradiction of the bible.

Considering where it came from, men.

Considering that the original texts were stories men told each other.

Considering that the book was created by a king in pursuit of power.

Should it make any sense????

and again these are out of the old testiment. People were punished on earth for the things they did while they were still on this earth. A reap what you sow. That changed with the coming of Jesus. He gave us new laws and we will be punished for our actions on earth after we pass away on earth.

"Jeremiah 35:17" is from the NT, so do you always lie to defend your addiction?

i am sorry was not thinking. But still nevertheless you're taking these verse out of context. You can not just take one verse here and one verse their out and have them bring the message their we originally ment to have.

It's amusing but shocking as well that some take the bible so literally. It's a book of contradictions that keeps it's readers confused and easily mis-led. It's no wonder that almost all conflicts and discriminations are created from it's writings.

Miles, what 'religion' are you affiliated with,,,although I dont always agree with your interpretation I have much respect for your knowledge ,,,,,

I studied the bible with Jehovahs Witnesses for this same reason,, their knowledge(even when I didnt always agree with their interpretation).

kudos to you , hey , perhaps the moderators would let there be a bible study forum,,( i dont know, might be seen as violation of some constitutional right or something),,,but it would be a nice thing to have, I enjoy reading your posts,,,you are inspiring me to STUDY even deeper the good book.

Yeah ok....but I have faith in my immunity from insanity...lol...So then someone somewhere once (or twice) said"

"Then God spoke all these words. He said, ‘I am Yahweh your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you lived as slaves. You shall have no other gods to rival me.'"

Or what? Is this the same "god" as Christians follow? Well wait, some Christians think Jesus was the son of god and some think Jesus is god....

http://www.christiananswers.net/kids/ednk-jesusgodorman.html[/url

They can't even get that right...er, wrong...is that right?

If there are hundreds of gods then all you guys have are like a 1 in a few hundred chance to NOT be living a lie. The messages in religions are usually pretty harmless and well meaning but then there's the fear and loathings that are like a ball and chain around their legs.

Why some get love and sane direction from it some allow it to make them hate and incite everything from discriminations, torture to wars and distruction of the planet.

This Earthling has had enough. Think I'll go kill a kitten.

Msharmony Shalom.

I am a Yahwists which most people of like faith call themselves. Yahweh said my people are destroyed for lack of wisdom.. The scriptures declare Yahweh's people will not be destroyed.

Even the Persions who sent the wisemen/Mitha Priest called The Israelites Yahweh's Wisdom Thus for these reasons we call ourselves Yahwists. or Yahweh is the way as Yahshua said he was the life the truth and the way. The jews of Jerusalem refered to the Apostles as those of the way.

We do not agree with the j-hovah witnesses at all. They started and even wrote about that the true name was Yahweh but using Yahweh as the Father and Yahshua as the son might confuse the people.

I always tell them you do not think not keeping chr-stmas and Easter does not confuse the people.

They utterly refuse to tell the truth and then they do not believe in the Continuity of the scriptures from beginning till end should be done either.

We do believe this. We are scattered all over the world and disciples find each other with the same knowledge all the time through the internet.. Without it we would really be small.

People reject as heresay or as a cult any time someone says the food and health laws are in effect. The feast days. Which even Colosians 2 14 refers to as a shadow of things to come.

Unless u experience the word which is living it and i truely believe all of it you can never understand it.

We are saved by grace a pardon Yahshua gave his life for. but should we go on sinning because we were pardoned?

We are told by the law we know what sin is. So not keeping it we believe you are sinning deliberately as Funches relayed to the death penalty for breaking the sabbath.

He was not put to death for breaking the sabbath.. He was put to death for deliberately after being warned about gathering sticks.

It had nothing to do with the sabbath.

This is the same as Heb 10 says as i will post that as i leave you.I hope this helps understand where i am coming from.. May Yahweh of Host Let Mountains Grow..Blessings...Miles

THESE ARE VERY POWERFUL WORDS FOR OUR FAITH.

Heb 10:11-11:1

And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of Yahweh, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,

16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says Yahweh: I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THIER HEARTS, AND IN THIER MINDS I WILL WRITE THEM," 17 then He adds, "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

19 Hold Fast Your Confession

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Yahshua, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of Yahweh, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

26 The Just Live by Faith

For if we SIN WILLFULLY after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of Yahweh underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and INSULTED THE SPIRIT OF GRACE? 30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says YAHWEH. And again, "YAHWEH will judge His people." 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living ELOHIM.

32 But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: 33 partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; 34 for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven. 35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of YAHWEH, you may receive the promise:

37 "For yet a little while,
And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.
38 Now the just shall live by faith;
But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him."

39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

NKJV

NO MORE SACRAFICE FOR SIN...... BUT YET WHAT AND WHO HE GOES ON AND ON ABOUT THIER FAITH BEFORE YAHSHUA.

Heb 11:1-12:11

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of YAHWEH, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
4 Faith at the Dawn of History
(Gen 4:1-16; 5:18-24; 6:5-8:22)
By faith Abel offered to YAHWEH a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, YAHWEH testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because ELOHIM had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased YAHWEH. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to YAHWEH must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with SINCERE fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
8 Faithful Abraham
(Gen 15:1-6; 21:1-7)
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; 10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is YAHWEH.
11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude — innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.
13 The Heavenly Hope

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. 15 And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore YAHWEH is not ashamed to be called their ELOHIM, for He has prepared a city for them.
17 The Faith of the Patriarchs
(Gen 22:1-14; 48:8-16; 50:22-25)
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 of whom it was said, "In Isaac your seed shall be called," 19 concluding that YAHWEH was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.
23 The Faith of Moses
(Ex 2:1-10; 12:31-51)
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's command.
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of YAHWEH than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the reproach of MESSIAH greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.
30 By Faith They Overcame

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. 31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.
32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again.
Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. 36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented — 38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, 40 YAHWEH having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.

Hebrews 12

12:1 The Race of Faith

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto YAHSHUA, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of YAHWEH.
3 The Discipline of YAHWEH
(Prov 3:11,12)
For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. 4 You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. 5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:
"My son, do not despise the chastening of YAHWEH,Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; 6 For whom YAHWEH loves He chastens,And scourges every son whom He receives."
7 If you endure chastening, ELOHIM deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
NKJV

We do what we do because we want to. Because our forfathers looked ahead to this day when they would see all thier children doing the will of yahweh because when that tongue of fire the word of Yahweh came upon them the Holy Spirit they yearned for.

We honor those Yahweh honored his son Most of all.

We are a special people Look at Yahshua's own cousin.

Matt 3:8-12
8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. 9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' I tell you that out of these stones YAHWEH can raise up children for Abraham. 10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

11 "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. 12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
NIV

Yahshua said he had to go to send the comfortor the Holy Spirit to baptise you in and with fire.

Acts 2:2-4
3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
NIV

The tongue of Fire from Yahweh. I will put my laws in thier mind and write them on thier hearts.

Acts 2:8-12
9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabs — we hear them speaking in our own tongues THE WONDERFUL WORKS OF YAHWEH."

John was called by Yahshua that no other man had been born by woman greater than john yet he goes on to say we all are greater than john because of what Yahshua did and what he Promiced to send.. The Holy Spirit.

Yahshua was perfect because he kept the law perfectly. Yet he was accussed over and over that he broke it. But the spirit told him showed him the will of Yahweh and what to answer without forthought just as we are Prophecied to do.

May you have a Wonderful Day...Blessings....Miles

Is this really the "word of God" or the cruel thoughts of Bronze age warriors?
Did you know this was in the bible? If not then are you shocked? If you did know it was there then is Christianity really about a healthy loving relationship or is it a case of the Stockholm syndrome?"

"This is what the Lord says: Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and *** .... And Saul ... utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword." (1 Samuel 15:3,7-8)

"The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their women with child ripped open." (Hosea 13:16)

"A curse on him who is lax in doing the LORD's work!
A curse on him who keeps his sword from bloodshed!" (Jeremiah 48:10)

Is this really the "word of God" or the cruel thoughts of Bronze age warriors?
Did you know this was in the bible? If not then are you shocked? If you did know it was there then is Christianity really about a healthy loving relationship or is it a case of the Stockholm syndrome?"

There is no greater love than laying down your life for someone as Christ did. The bible is a VERY long book of history, mans laws and treatment of each other , the preachings of Jesus AND Gods command.

If one only reads to pick that which suits them instead of reading the HISTORY, the point is missed. There were GREAT prices to pay for blatant disobedience to God , often involving bloodshed before The Son allowed his own blood to be shed for us.

It's amusing but shocking as well that some take the bible so literally. It's a book of contradictions that keeps it's readers confused and easily mis-led. It's no wonder that almost all conflicts and discriminations are created from it's writings.

Okay - now pay attention everybody.

Here is a perfect example of Middle Earth practicing the very thing he preaches against. His major concerns about religion upset him so much - because he is the biggest practicioner of their cultish methods.

Notice how he sets up a premise and goes out and finds the passages that support his argument - as though assuming his interpretation is trustworthy. The only problem I see with religion Middle Earth - is your continual practice of the aspects that make it dangerous. Maybe you should take the time someday and read the book for yourself - and this way you can formulate your own opinion - instead of blindly following the opinion of those Atheistic disciples that you so worship.

please do not use verses out of context and or without the verses around it so it is seen to what is being talked about

Why not? People do it all the time, and clergy are the worst. It's a common occurrance when discussing any religious text, no matter which religion it is.

I think laypersons are much more likely to take out of context because they are more likely to have not read through let alone studied the whole book. Pastors generally(at least the ones I have had) go to school to actually study the whole book and usually are not taking things out of context but can only cover so much in any sermon so must cut to the chase.

The bible was written to be ambiguous so it can be interpreted to mean a whole lot of things....lol

To say anyone has a grasp on it shows that some people have only studied it with biased view to begin with, which doesn't allow them to view it objectively.
