I've had that happen to me and it can be very difficult.

Meeting and talking to people online has opened up a whole new world to me. My life has not provided me with much opportunity to socialize with people from very different backgrounds than myself. Working full time, being a mom and having some health issues also prevent me from meeting many people outside of my usual social circles.

So interacting and talking with people online has given me the chance to learn from very different people and gain a lot of insight and new perspectives on many different subjects.

I have been able to meet a much greater number of individuals that I never would have had the opportunity to meet in real life.
