I know that I grew up as a Roman Catholic along with its teachings but I end up breaking away and follow no religion! Christianity is one thing, and so is Catholicism. So the Bible eh? Perhaps if people quit being lazy and try to study the Hebrew and Sumerian text then perhaps then you'll break away from the documents that are tainted. Lord Yahweh had probably realize that the Bible will be tainted but the truth will not.
I had started my studies to seek the ultimate truth almost a decade ago, comparing the Hebrew and the Roman text. But everything is explain is very similar, although the words in the Bible came from Greek and Latin. So what is God's name anyways? There is something that I find very interesting, the word "LORD" capitalized vs "Lord" in the Hebrew text is written differently. So, the Almighty God does have a name am I right? I thought that the Hebrew text was the oldest writing system in the bible but now I had learned that the Sumerian text is. I am not here to criticize any other religion but all I want is just answers. I have no idea how long Christianity and Catholicism have been around but the Sumerian religion has been around for 5000 years, just as old as the Chinese writing system. Hmmm...I wonder if I'm dumb. LOL |

I personally prefer Mysticism. I think it's a far more intelligent philosophy.

LOL You are definetly not dumb. I myself do not know Hebrew, but with a concordance, the errors in translation are obvious. The problem I see with most is that they do not desire to seek the truth, but to have the "truth" dictated to them. Keep up your desire to learn, but take no one's word for anything, verify it for yourself. It is amazing how much truth there is if you actualty want to see it. |

I may be a christian, but that is as far as it goes. I do not claim any denomination, because if i did, that would be blocking out the teachings of others. And i realize not one specific denomination is correct. It's all just interpretations of what is written in the bible. Same goes with the interpretation from the original to what we call the bible would be different because of the different interpretations. |

I personally prefer Mysticism. I think it's a far more intelligent philosophy. I think my beliefs are as sound as any other beliefs but since I can accept the fact that I JUST DON'T KNOW I am HAPPY. That knowledge set me free long ago. I never have attached myself to any man-made religions or other "mystical" things...no pyramids in my place except for a Dark Side of the Moon CD....anyway, to some writs from ancient times used to give people meaning and some answers...but unfortunately the writings and the people preaching it seem to have caused more harm than good...especially to the people listening to it. But the truth is that the human mind is not able to comprehend the complexities of the universe...so therefore all the bibles and chit written by man about our origins, how to live morally (pfft...really?), and where we go when we die, they cannot be known at this time...of course morality can be known...unless it's another religion inspired discrimination and intrusion into governments...a lot of that still goes on in 2010? Really? We may need to evolve for another million years to know why we are here...but by then our species will have gone extinct...by it's own hand probably. Yup, we cannot know at this time, sorry. Check out this guy, I have read 3 of his books about how the books of the Bible were translated, who probably wrote the books, who didn't write the books. It really casts doubt on the whole religion of Christianity, even if you interpret the message metaphysically.

IM catholic, but I look at it differently than alot of people.
I dont see the need to judge, or tell you how to worship... its practices are to show respect and adoration, but I dont see all of them as a must. I say rejoice how you want, and what you call your God, or how you choose to worship is purely up to you. I myself have studied zen, buddhisim, looked into paganisim, and wikka... I think decency should not be left out of spiritual belief though. Maybe you should study some theology, and see what different people believe, and extract what touches you the most. Good luck. |
