Topic: Admit It, Ladies, You Don't Want "Smart"

I mean, OK, I'm pretty smart, as these things go, and if that makes me sound like an Arrogant Narcissistic Conceited jerk, well, I'm OK with that. I don't believe in false modesty, and I'm not entirely convinced that true modesty is such a great idea, either.

I believe you should be what you are. But if you are only saying you are "that" smart because of other people's opinions of you and not because you actually believe it is a bad way to go. i can't say i agree with everything in this post. I do want a "Intelligent" man i enjoy having wholesome conversation. Instead of the plain ol' "how was your day?" conversation. It's just me i need that fulfillment. Now i don't want a man who is intelligent and feels the need to boast about it every chance he gets or strikes up conversation just to make himself feel "smarter" than me that is just degrading and ridiculing.
Maybe you should try to find a woman with the same amount of intellect as you then you would not have to worry about her trying to make you into a cardboard box.

There are those people that when you are around, you just KNOW they are smart...then there are people that when you are around they have to TELL you they are smart.

It is a different way of it coming across, if it comes across as arrogant, not many women I know are attracted to arrogance....but they do appreciate intelligence. i.e, if they ask you a question you can answer more than 'uh huh' or 'yeppers'.

My sister dated a guy, he thought he was the smartest thing around, and he did know a lot, but he was also an arrogant a$$hole. He say something about history or some other type of formal schooling to my litte brother(who was fixing this guy's car at the time) and when my brother said " didn't know that" he would respond always with "Wow, I can't believe you didn't know that" finally my brother handed him his the parts of the transmission he was working on and told him to put it together....basically Mr. Arrogant said "I don't know how to do that" and my brother again responded with "I can't believe you don't know how to do all...every guy should know cars blah blah blah" just to teach this Mr. Arrogant a lesson.

Now after my example, intelligence varies, formal education varies, skills vary, but the important thing imho is having the wisdom to know how to use what your strengths are, without making people feel stupid. No one likes to feel stupid, trust me people realize if someone is smarter than them...they just don't want to be TOLD someone is smarter than them.

Not that I am trying to pick on you, but... with what you posted I can't help myself. Please accept my appoligies ahead of time.

"Men = Like to be in charge.

Women = Like to have control."

Itn't the above quote the same thing basically?

Men in this society have the control as I see it in the work force. Saying that they like to be in charge is just another term for that control, designating to where and whom he allows jobs and duties that he does not want. Same for relationships. Most women I know are tired of second class status and work hard to gain some sembelance of any control in her life. ( Be in charge of her life.)

There is a difference between a big girl and a FAT AZZ! I do not see anything wrong with big girls because they are typically a lot stronger then they look. A big girl can move a couch if I need the help.

A fat woman? What good are they? Sit on a couch and watch TV? There is something wrong with a woman when the top half is one third the size of the bottom half! The whole genetics issue only carries so far.

I knew one woman who had such a bad weight problem she actually was medically prescribed under very controlled conditions Methamphetamine to help her loose weight. I know plenty of women who work hard to loose weight and control it. Some of them are like I said big girls but they also can hit like a truck and dead press an impressive amount of weight "for a girl."

Right, because if they're NOT smart, then their opinions are probably invalid anyway. Simplification in motion!

It took me years to understand that it didn't mean a damn thing what other people thought of me -- but it DOESN'T, and I can't really (seriously) pretend otherwise. Some like me, some don't, I'm not running for political office and, unless I get married again, I'll probably never be targeted for assassination. People just don't care that much; they have other things going on in their lives, more important things.

Exactly. Communication BEYOND the old boring blase blather. It's hard to find, though.

Right now, I'd settle for someone with a mere 140 IQ. Provided she knew how to use apostrophes.

Right now, there are 173 people reading that remark and taking it totally seriously. It must be rough living after a humorectomy.

OK, let's say relevant to the venue at hand -- like if I post something about dating issues on a dating site, it's presumably topical. Assuming I'm holding up a fish in my profile pic, which I'm not. There's another project, yup.

so it's based upon assumptions then? satirical assumptions. or did i miss the point unless you mean it's just satire based upon the subject then i get it now.
