Topic: I gotta ask...

I've noticed since I've become more heavily tattooed that people have a lot more to say about it than when I only had a few that were even visible.

For the guys - Would it bother you enough not to date someone? Are you the conservative type that could NEVER bring a girl like me home to Mom? (If you are, do the tattoos secretly give you a half chub?)

Yes, these are serious questions!

For everyone - I know tattoos come with a stigma but doesn't the actual artwork and the quality of the artwork count for something?

I am going to ask NICELY that anyone who thinks that people with tattoos are trash, PLEASE stay out of my thread. I really don't appreciate that kind of negativity.

I was in the tattoo buisness for 16 years. From my point of view, how much you have doesn't matter. What I'm more concerned about is the quality of your artwork.

The vast majority of tattooed women I meet have poor quality work. This is usually because: 1) they don't know the differance and 2) they aren't paying for the work they have done. They find some creep that's willing to tattoo them in exchange for a little nudity and taking a few pics he can look at late at night.

High quality tattooing isn't free and it isn't cheap either.

Exactly my point but I don't think it's female specific. I've seen a lot of guys with bad work done as well. People don't do their research before getting inked.

Thanks! I love my tattoos and my artist does gorgeous work. I can understand why some tattoos might look trashy based on their quality. Just wondering if people see them as trashy regardless of the quality? I mean what if Van Gogh was a live today and chose skin instead of canvas?

I’m not too sure
The Starry night or Café terrace
would look so good on an arm,
but hey, what do I know?

I don't have tats. that being said, It wouldn't bother me to date someone who has tattoos. Rather, I think they are a wonderful form of creativity. tattoos have a stigma but I think the quality of tattoo says something about the person. Maybe not so much about how much it cost, but the fact that they took their time to get something that was worth while for them. I've seen some pretty trashy tats but on the same token, I've seen some tats that purely amazing in their artwork and I can only imagine the amount of time it took to achieve that greatness.

I have several friends with tats, although I don't have any, I'm not against people who do...People can be SO prejudice, shows their ignorance I think.....So you go girl!!flowerforyou

Today someone asked me how much my half sleeve cost.... um why do people think it's ok to ask how much stuff costs? lol

I told him and his eyes lit up.... then a second later he said, well it is really good work.

As I said cheap tattoos aren't good and good tattoos aren't cheap

I can't speak for others only myself. I will admit that those with lots of tattoo's I tend to stare at them a bit too much. But it does not have anything to do with them I'm more curious I guess and it is something I would not do myself. True I'm tattoo free.

My son has several of them as well as his ex. It did take me time to get use to them and yes I do wonder why one has one done the way they did or in the area it was done.

As far as seeing them as trashy people is the farthest thing from my mind.

Sure at times I wonder why one wants to totally cover themselves with them. But that is not for me to say..

So guess I'm more curious what they have tattooed on them.

Tattoo's are and eye catcher just as piercings are we are curious creatures and can't help but to look.

What gets me are those that get mad that others look at them with curiosity thinking others are always thinking the worse.

I mean when one does something different it is going to attract attention either good or bad.... it will happen....whoa

i like to see tats that tell something or the person designed for something special the tats i dont like is like ya see people with the nike emblem on their arm

Yeah I hear ya. A few of mine are celtic designs and my half sleeve was drawn specifically for my by my artist. The 5 roses stand for the members of my family and of course, Mom in the middle. Dare anyone to find a prettier Mom tattoo than mine bigsmile

I don't have a tattoo, but primarily because I'm deathly afraid of needles! Haha! But I actually like tattoos and enjoy seeing them on people, especially the artistic ones. I looked into your profile a couple times before to see your tats and I thought they were beautiful.

I find men with tattoos very sexy but I am also attacted to men who don't.

I don't judge anyone with tattoos as I have 2 and want to get more as I get more money.

I do find that people with tattoos do get judged even without someone knowing that they are passing judgement.

Just be smart about it. Like the saying goes: Cheap tattoos look cheap and Good tattoos aren't cheap.

But one man's trash is another one's treasure. Right?
