I started using blackberry a few months ago, using a boostmobile 8330..well the phone was great, even though it's old except the service was horrible , but what would I expect from a pay/month no contract right.. I guess I didn't know what I was getting into (they call them "crack berries" for a good reason!)

Anyway, recently decided to get a new contract (ATT) and I went with a Nokia 71x..which is actually a great sturdy smartphone, but even though I had it..I kept going back on my blackberry to do my messaging and texting..because it's just superior..even with the age/technology difference.

So anyway, I sent back the Nokia, now I got the blackberry torch. DAmn! This phone rocks! drinker

I haven't even started discovering all the possibilites on it..but I have to tell you..once you own a blackberry, you don't wanna go back..not even the mighty Iphone4 could win me over..even though I would have paid the same money for it. And I did use it (the Iphone3) since my friend asked me to set it up for him and I showed him all the functions on it. (I don't like I phones anyway, lack of customization options, lack of functionality compared to the most simplest BB)

If you ever get a phone..go with the BB (whichever model you like better) ..you will not regret it.

I AM SO JEALOUS!!! ATT always gets new blackberry first. I have Verizon and I have to wait at least a year before I can get one.

Hating on your blackberry! I want it!!!!

I intensely dislike mine! Words can not express just how much the damn thing pisses me off. Blackberry Curve with Verizon. I've had to have it replaced 4 times in a year and a half, due to issues, and a battery once so far.

Once my contract is up, and I have the funds, I think I'll go to the Droid. Haven't totally decided yet, need to do some research on CNet.

Yeah that is pretty shltty seximanitus!

Equus is it the curve with the trackBALL or the trackPAD?

The older curve with the trackball does suck big ones! Joy had it and hated it so when I upgraded I got her a new one too and now she loves it!

Verizon or sprint blackberries..don't like them. They aren't GSM networks, and there is no sim card for those "special" phones..thanks to them being a CDMA network. Your phone only works with them, if you decide to break the contract or pay the fees for leaving, the phone is yours and it's as valuable as a paperweight or a cheap digital camera if your phone have it.

I can't even sell my old blackberry, since boostmobile is a Sprint version of no contract phones so there is no way to unlock the phone.

I always kept that in mind..so that's why I said, it's either T-mobile or ATT. T mobile is more expensive though and their service isn't so great in my area so even though i'm no big fan of ATT, i'll give them that for sticking with the GSM network.

If I ever wanna get rid of this thing (not likely)..I could just unlock it for like 40 bucks charge..put in any sim card I like..big advantage for those who travel outside of USA or want to switch providers but keep the phone, although ATT claims it would work at several countries the way it is anyway.

About the Iphone4...I fiddled with it for like 10 minutes. I don't care how pretty it is...it's heavy like a piece of lead. On days when i forget to wear my belt, it would certainly keep pulling off my pants....I recommend it for people who want to throw something heavy and expensive at someone, and cause a serious injury.

i got my first blackberry in '01. they have all been great and except for a couple of times when the BB service was hacked i have never had a problem with any of them.

i'm also on verizon so signal has never been a problem either, (unlike with the other carrier) but the best is yet to come...verizon is about to launch its new LTE(enhanced 4g)service and when it does, the other guys will be left even further behind. (perhaps 2 years behind)

with the new o/s and web browser BB's with the LTE capability will be faster and more stable. oh and for the record Atlantis, this will be GSM based.

the only thing that concerns me are the rumors about microsoft possibly buying RIM...not too sure that would be a good thing.....

we can hope they stay away, but from what i've been reading they might have it in for nokia and this would be a good way to damage them.

It takes some serious stones to buy a $27B company like RIM... Microsoft $40B cash would be cutting it close. IMO but it's possible I guess ohwell

I am still using the bb8330 curve, no problems here with reception nor use. Thinking of getting the new EVO.

What are you doing with 64 gigs???

I have a 4 gig card and a 2 gig card and I haven't even used my 4 gig card, because the 2 gig is just fine for all the music to be saved on and taking pictures occasionally.

The new BBS (9000 + series) are just as fast as anyone want them to be.
