Just how far back will humanity be thrown , when an epic magnetic storm kills satellites , fries sub stations ,and electricity becomes non existant?
Possibly a modern dark age.?

Life on Earth is very fragile to begin with. Human's dependency on technology only places us in a far more precarious position actually.

So yep, humanity could easily be flung into a dark age or worse via a catastrophic failure of technology, or even economy really.

Existed, yes. But, I'm not so sure I would want to live in some of the conditions my ancestors did.

Or just possibly (given the number of people that now understand 'modern' science) a new infrastructure will develop without the 'corporate sqeeze' pay-me for these things mentality.

and civilization will really take off.

Mankind is full of inventivness.

The one thing humans rely on the most is electricity,
For heating, cooling, water purification, food storage, communication, pumping gas, creating materials for shelter etc, etc.
And an electromagnetic burst from or own sun could really diminish the human population

Read a paper, i think we're going back to the dark ages already without any sort of mass coronal ejection being involved.

Well, I plan on personally starting the first real panic. Maybe some looting, a little arson (just a small town, like maybe Toledo). You know, have some fun with it!!

What's the point of being thrown back into the dark ages if we don't have some good old fashioned panicking in the street?

Oooooo yeah, looting, good idea. We can go score some new chit we won't be able to use anyway...I mean since it will be 'dark'. Great idea, thanks.
