i'm not starving for a job.
what risk are you talking about.
and i need a supervisor to show me the way to where.

if you talk about a org hierarchy , you find that, someone is giving the target and giving the training to complete the task.

DOES DEGREE OR CERTIFICATION MATTER IN LIFE..
OR
MATTERS ! who made their own rules
 drinker flowerforyou

it matters unless you are born into money, an entertainer of some sort, or a professional athlete

in other words, OUTSIDE of Hollywood, in order to compete you need the papers,,,

or a great invention

um no you don't. Plenty of Trades you can get jobs in and training as you go
and they pay great. Funny how many people go into University for a degree and
you ask what they're going to do when they get out and they don't know. Getting
a degree in no way guarantees you a job at all. Especially these days. Nowadays the
key to a good paying job is more who you know then what you know it seems.

its a global market, the 'who you know' crowd is also filled with those who have DEGREES who are going to beat out those who dont

No, it doesn't, but having a degree gives you better odds of getting a decent paying job, even in trades where degrees or certification are not required, earning a degree or certification can greatly increase your earning potential. Of course, you also have to have a clear career plan.

I'm just saying it can only do you good to further your education.

A degree means you have an education of some sort. It means you started something and completed it.

It does not give you an automatic job and the high life.

Yes there are a lot of drop out millionaires. And a lot of folks with advanced degrees are looking for jobs, especially these days.

But nine times out of ten finishing school is going to give you a leg up over someone who didn't.

AT THE VERY LEAST A GOOD EDUCATION MAY TEACH PEOPLE NOT TO YELL!!!

Edudcation is always a good thing and will get you interviewed over someone who doesn't have one. A degree guarentees nothing. It is how you apply any knowledge that you have obtained. Example would be a skilled plumber would make more than someone with a phd in social services..........smokin

DOES DEGREE OR CERTIFICATION MATTER IN LIFE..
OR
MATTERS ! who made their own rules
 drinker flowerforyou

The only certifications that matter are the ones that your own company holds. How you get there does'nt matter, only that you did.

A Degree matters only if you want to be well educated in living by somebody else's rules.

College is'nt for Entreprenuers. Seriously. If a person has that special drive, they will succeed eventually without it.

Technical training or professional schooling will help prepare you with specific skill sets sure, but what you do with those skills is up to you.

No job out there that you can go to school for will make you rich, yet some college graduates seem to have this illusion that they are entitled to a job just because they paid (or are still paying) for school.

I will hire college students, but will rarely ever consider hiring a college grad under the age of 40.

I always tell those kids to focus on what they do well not what they'd like to do, until they make enough money to do what they want.

I know brilliant people with no formal education and idiots with advanced degrees. A degree isn't necessarily an indicator of your intellect, but it does open doors that might otherwise remain closed. After the door opens, it's up to the individual to prove the worth of their degree or lack thereof.
