I am sorry hun, but in some places cat and dog are acceptable food items. Yes I agree it is not that way in the usa, germany or canada 9just to name three places), but that doe snt make it wrong, and we have absolutely no business telling another country what they can and can not eat, especially if it is to survive.
The most we can do, is not allow it to be served on American soil (military base, embassy, etc.) |

Well, I think a animal raised to be a pet shouldn't be eaten. If there were dog/cat ranches then i wouldn't have a problem with THOSE Cats and Dogs being eaten, mostly because they would've been fed the best stuff for the interest of being eaten by us.

Here in China they eat dog...turns my stomach...but it is their culture...I would never do it, as I love animals. But hard to change a whole culture. They've been doing it for centuries. When I was in Ecuador found that they eat guinea pigs

As an animal rights activist, I hate the idea. But as JJ said cultures are known for that. The least we could hope for is they are killed quickly.

IN ALL HONESTY DOG DOES NOT TASTE BAD AT ALL. SORRY SHADOW, BUT IT'S TRUE. NOW I WOULD NOT INTENTIONALLY GO OUT AND EAT DOG OR CAT, HOWEVER WHEN I WAS STATIONED IN HUNGARY/BOSNIA WE DID NOT KNOW THEY WERE SERVING DOG UNTIL ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER WE HAD BEEN EATING FROMT HE LOCAL DELI. aND AS i SAID, IT IS VERY DELICIOUS. HOWEVER, I IWLL NOT EAT IT INTENTIONALLY.

Yes, there are cultures that eat cats and dogs, just as there are culture that think cows are sacred. Just as long as when they move into my neighborhood they respect the fact that my dogs are my pets and not for their consumption we have no problem.

That does seem to be the culture of the United States "If it's cute, you don't eat it". Look at Cows, Pigs, and Chickens, they are not very pretty animals. Nothing against the "It's cute, don't eat" philosophy, it's just how it seems to be here and perhaps we are missing out on a nutritious animal...like Rabbit!

 I have unknowingly eaten cat and dog before at a Chinese restaraunt in Edmonton. They got busted for having a farm outside the city full of stolen pets and strays. There was also another Asian restaraunt busted for having coyotes in their freezer. They couldn't prove whether or not anyone had been served coyote though. One Vietnamese guy I know refers to cat as rooftop rabbit! He loves it.

As long as nobody is hunting stray animals around me, I'll be find, but if I find them doing that, than they will find themselves on the pavement

Now I wouldn't mind if the cultures that eats roaches would move down here, hell they would have more then enough to eat, especially those big flying ****roaches. So you hear that, anyone into eating roaches you are welcome to move to Louisiana.

In China, they believe that the meat tastes better if the animal suffered before it died. They slaughter the animals in sight of other dogs, who quickly figure out that they are next. The animals are killed slowly, to maximize the suffering. I have seen pictures of animals being skinned and having their meat removed while they are still alive and conscience.

Well nobody claimed China was good towards animals (or humans). I'm doing all I can to save animals here in the USA, and if I ever end up in China, than I'll set up base there
