Well, let's base this date on we both know what we look like already before we meet up so the psychical attraction is already there, or should be laugh

But besides that, I love when the woman is involved into conversations and we're looking eye to eye when talking. Being engaged in the whole date for the time is a turn on really. Turn off would be if they just end up being shy the ENTIRE time. I realize some are shy, like myself, but I loosen up pretty quickly after 10 minutes or so.

But then again, after being divorced, I haven't been on a date with a woman in years! So it's going to be weird for me if and when a date ever occurs. So I may be that shy one I just said was a turn off for me laugh drinker

Using the phone on a date, including texting, is a huge turn off unless it is really important.

oh god, Vegas bombs are good but uh, I think I'll stray away from those on a date, unless of course she wants to get blasted too happy drinker

Being too shy, texting/talking on the phone, and too drunk are turn offs.

Other than that, as long as they're interesting and can have a good time, we should be good to go. Not too picky about first dates.

Turn ons, acting like I'm the most important person while we are together, belign playful, being chivalrous.
Turn offs, being to busy looking around to pay attention, on the phone(unless something necessary), being rude or obnoxious.

a lot of good stuff already here- but let's see what I can add..

turn ons - good - impeccable grooming with a good hair cut or very neat pony tail - good cologne like polo or armani - quiet but talkative - wanting to be alone with me, long walks - lake swimming

turn offs - bringing or "running into" his buds, crowded noisy bars, stingy, talking about an "ex", even having a cell phone on him, any negativity about women, bossiness - but hopefully I would know him well enough to know these won't be issues

Turn on is confidence in yourself, I understand being shy at first but after a few minutes you should be able to open up. Try talking about a subject that you are go in and then your confidence will start to shine though.

Turn offs for me is the cell phone which others have mentioned, but it is anything that takes away from the one-on-one time...they could be totally ignoring their date by talking to their friend who they just ran into or anything. The other turn off I see too many times is smoking...

Turn-ons: Uniqueness, confidence

Turn-offs: Over confidence, hahaha
(never more than you can back up.) Fakeness.

That may give your date the wrong impression! Someone constantly checking their watch either seems like they're in a hurry to get somewhere else, or waiting for something (such as the date) to end.

If she's reasonably nice looking and seems truly interested in me, it's a turn on.

If she's unattractive and self absorbed, it's a turn off.

If she appears desperate, it depends on what kind of mood I'm in.
