I am the kind of person who needs my alone time. Once a day, hell sometimes the whole day, I just want to be by myself and not talk to anyone.
My brother is the complete opposite. He can't stand to be by himself and is always looking for someone to hang out with or anything else to feel like he isn't by himself.

Which is your preference? Do you need to be by yourself occasionally or would you prefer to never be alone?

Alone time, definitely, I am the only person I know who doesnt cause me any stress,,,lol

(on second thought, I have one baby cousin who always puts a smile on my face)

in lieu of time spent with her,

its peaceful by myself, and I need that peace and quiet time,,,

I require a lot of alone time. I have actually structured my life around my insatiable need to be alone.......

I don't play well with others.......

When I'm doing the biz thing I'm very social but as soon as I'm out of there I'm very private and alone.

I have a question for you guys. Do you spend more time with people or on-line here?

I spend much more time conversing here than with anyone else socially. I would never share in public what I share here. Is it the same for any of you?

I'm content with being alone, and do need time to myself. I also enjoy being social at times, and seek the company of others. Being social is draining on me though, so I need time to myself to recharge afterwards, but I do enjoy it from time to time.

I sit behind a computer at work, that is usually when I'm online. When I get home I typically head to a friends house or have someone over. I'd say it's about even for me, I don't talk to many people here or in my social life.

I believe you have worked out the
addictive qualities of being on-line.

Here of course :-)

I need a lot of alone time, which is a good thing because I don't know anybody in real life anymore!

I am an out-going person and I love to be around friends and family... also meet new people as what the industry I am in entails me to be, so I prefer to be socially active. But that doesn't mean I do not need solitude from time to time.

Like a lot of people here have said, I need both alone time and social time. I live alone so do have sometimes more alone time than I like but I am fine with my own company and always have projects going on, things I enjoy doing.

I talk all day to customers, I guess that is a type of being social, I have made a few friends since moving a year and a half ago and enjoy spending time with them. I also have my folks close by, we do stuff together too. Talking on the phone with old friends is always good too.

I used to spend much more time here than with 'live' (you guys are alive) people. Now I spend a lot of time IMing on Yahoo with my long distance love.

I need both. There are times when I really need my meetings. Even my ex told me that one time. But then I am one to go to extremes. Always been like that. I can remember as a child other kids saying, "Earth to Roy. Come in Roy." My older sister would zone out, too. But then there are times when I am completely satisfied with just my own company. I think it is called self absorbed. It is like I go in my cave. "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus" book describes this. On the outside of the cave there is this sign: Here there be dragons. The psychologist my dad seen about me thought that I might have been autistic growing up. My older sister thought for sure I was retarded. Thanks to the social interactions of my AA meetings and rehabilitation I am not the bubble boy I once was. I have gone from being a complete social-path and being totally antisocial to be a real groupie.
