Typing about sex/sexual preferences is a big turn off for me.

Why do some guys think this is a way to endear me to them. Is it used as a test? Or are they just chatting to me to relieve their boredom?

It really grinds my gears!!!

sometimes people follow the forums though, and they may be trying to appeal to what WE put out in the forums

so if we put out that sex is a priority, it may lead to some focusing on that when they respond to us,,,

I knew as I was writing this post that someone would throw my ‘how important is sex..’ comments back at me .

Since joining Mingle, I have posted 350+ comments on here and I would guesstimate that less than 10% (and I’m being generous), have been of a sexual nature.

Shirley (used deliberately), you aren’t suggesting that I should stop being myself? Stop voicing my opinions because people may take what I say out of context? Because I learned a long time ago that I can only be responsible for my actions..

One of my (many) flaws is that I am not very good at censoring myself and my opinions...the analogy of ‘old dog, new tricks’ comes to mind .

If anything, I think my threads/posts have probably revealed more about my contradictory nature than they have about my sexual preferences.

I do get the point you made though – I was using this thread to say that while I’m open to making general comments about sex that may reveal my preferences. I am NOT open to blatant, personal discussions about my sexual preferences with strangers. Make of that what you will..

Turn offs for me are guys that say they want to treat a woman like a princess, that they are good guys, and that they believe in chilvary. Really how much BS can one write?laugh

HEY! I'm a good guy. I was even a Boy Scout! And an alter boy. And went to a Christian school (ok, only for half a year before they threw me out, but hey...). Hmmmm.....I look a little like Jesus! Yeah! That's it!

I guess it's a little bit of a turn off, but not as much as calling one's self "good" "kind" "nice guy" or showing off a conservative Christian mindset. On the other hand "bad" "rebel" "punk" or a struggling artist type lifestyle set off my brain's anti-social alarms.

balance is a turn on

imbalance is a turn off

'too much' of anything can be a turn off

too much of an attempt to seem tough
too much of an attempt to seem sensitive
too much bragging
too much whinging
,,etc,,,,

men who write compliments about themselves in their titles like really unclever non-specific non-descriptive obvious ones........

I expect women to do it because it's flirty but from men, it's weird...

And they usually are scammers.....

does anyone else think that??? hmmmm

Terri

I don;t notice the screen names usually unless it is someone who I communicate with regularly, and even then don;t pay much attention...I figure, like me, they just thought up something on the spot to get through the process

it's a big w/e to me

Yep; about the whining especially when guys get sick. Saw the funniest commercial last night about Nyquil. A guy was laying in bed sick; the funeral music was playing in the background, and he is telling his wife to pass on his last wishes to his mother. He wife just hands him a bottle on Nyquil. Too funny. laugh
