do you do anything about it? It can be here or in real life. How many of you would actually ask someone out that you are interested in? Or even at least let the person know you're interested?

Or, do you wait around and hope they figure it out and do something about it?

I guess you have to decide what's more important in that case... seeing if it works out, or just staying friends.

Up until a few years ago, this was never a problem. I never had to figure out how to let someone know I was interested; there were always people around who were interested in me, and who would make it pretty obvious. On top of that, I had some friends who were always trying to fix me up with someone they knew. It was a pretty good system, I really didn't have to do anything!

Nowadays, I'm in a situation where I don't know anyone in my area, and have had no luck trying to find ways to meet people. So I haven't really been interested in anyone for a very long time. And if someone like that did show up, I'm really not sure how I would handle it.

in real life it's easier. you can see their facial expression, hear the tone of their voice, smell the fear in their sweat, and if she resists you can grab her by the throat. (JK about the smelling part)

on line it's way too difficult. plus if you get rejected, it's out there for everyone to read

How is it out there for everyone to read? Are you asking in the forums?

once you hit the send option it's out there. in the forums, in a message, it's in cyberspace and you can't get it back or change it. any message you send, the sendie can make public

Ah, so you're worried about them making it public. Got it.

I'm rather blunt, so, easy-fo-sheasy.
So, confidence is definitely not lacking here..
..even if I do have low self-esteem.
I just expect to be rejected, so, oddly..
..makes it easier for me to approach someone.

:O

...if all else fails...

I resort to my lineage.

I pull out my club, knock her unconscious, toss her over my shoulder..

..and take her back to my man-cave. :D

When I was in the dating pool; I would make it known I was interested by telling him.

I respond to interest if I'm interested in a person. I rarely make the first move though. I don't know why..it's just who I am. lol

I will be flirty if I like someone, but it's more super friendly than flirty, so its not extremely obvious that I'm into them, I guess. lol

I get that some people don't make the first move, but I don't get the "I don't know why" part. If you don't know why, who does?!

And if you won't make the first move, why not make it obvious you're into them, rather than them having to figure it out?

Honestly? I suppose it's because I like when a guy takes the initiative. I guess I'm old fashioned in my preferences.

But I'm not saying I would never take the initiative or make it obvious I like someone. I have before and I'm sure I'll have to again. If I'm THAT interested in someone and he's showing the same signs but not making any moves, I suppose I would. But I wouldn't necessarily like it. lol
