capitalism can work , just like socialism can,, the factor that makes the difference is GREED

people who HAVE, feel entitled to HAVE and better than those who DONT HAVE because those who DONT HAVE obviously dont deserve to have

greed begins to birth false pride and subtle classist bigotry that allows a majority to be financially and socially oppressed by a minority

I don't know where you get your information, but capitalism only benefits the filthy rich at the expense of the slave labor of the poor. It is all about getting the largest profits.

Don't pay people a living wage, they are so desperate they will work for less. Make products to sell to the rich and middle class at the most profit possible.

That's capitalism.

I do not think that capitalism and democracy are compatable, I'm asking why people think they are.

Exactly.
The entire system was set up by greedy warmongers,
it was never designed to benefit anyone but them...

Capitalism and democracy are part of the same animal.

It starts out as democracy, and ends up as capitalism.

Democracy is capitalism in its early stages.

Exactly we've been conned. We need a new way, and before anybody accuse's me of being a communist that system don't work either and neither doe's religion... I think democracy is a good idea, in theory, I have yet to see it in practice.

It just evolves into capitalism... then eventually dictatorship.

Capitalism is much less than what people want to make it out to be.

I have a shovel. That is capital. I am not doing anything with that shovel. You are my neighbor and need to use a shovel for a few days, but do not want to buy one. I rent you my shovel to use for two days for much less than the price of the shovel.

That is capitalism. THAT IS IT. Nothing more.

Capitalism is good becuase it takes resources that are not being put to use, and puts them to use to the benefit of both parties.

However it gets a bad rap, because people call political tinkering, or corporatism, capitalism.

Explain your comment given the real definition of capitalism.

It's not perfect, but can anyone nominate a better alternative to democracy?

True. Parasites. If you could keep democracy pure it would be fine.

Pay people a living wage so that everyone wins.

Yes, the term is misunderstood, hence the link I posted. It has become a 'bogeyman' through misuse.

As long as man has had belongings, there has been capitalism.

Ugh lets thug barrow his spear for the day if he gets half the meat = Capitalism in the cave man era . . .

Ugh teaches thug to make his own spear in return for thug to teach ugh how to fish . . . Capitalism.
