We live by the scientific "fact" that from nothing can only come nothing, hence objects do not just appear randomly. So where did the first material thing come from? Why is there something and not nothing? Why do we exist?

And if the answer is the big bang, then what created the big bang and so forth, you know that whole cause and effect thing?

Honestly? Stop worrying about why there is, why there was, and why there will be...And live, learn, and accomplish.

Worrying about the unknown will just get you even further into the unknown, there is really no point to it, just like explaining death...It cannot be done, so stop worrying about it and just live.

i think the big bang is more of a series of bangs, as the matter has always existed in one form or another... hence, the universe is a big recycling center...

It really doesn't matter, to be fair. Unless you're into creationalism or evolution or both. Or maybe it's part of your college study. People always ask if others "know why they were put on this planet". As if there's meant to be more to it. Why look for more though? All I know is if my mum wasn't with my dad at the time, I wouldn't be here. I just take life as I see it. If you think about these things too much it can make your head hurt. lol.

Physics doesn't really work that way. If you want the pat answer, it would be "We don't know."

The next step is "What do we think is the answer?" You would need to climb the ladder from Newtonian physics to Einsteinian to Wittenian and beyond. Ed Witten would be a good place to start for grins.

In a nutshell, Ed Witten postulated that multiple universes float around with different shapes and have different properties (M theory). He calculated that it took eleven dimensions to hold these universes and if two happen to bump into each other ... boom! You get a big bang that grows into a bubble which is all you see as reality.

This is a fun video. I hope you like it. It isn't new.

You have to think that if we consider our existence to be weird then what would happen if we were to meet others unlike ourselves. At a young age we are trained only to perceive what we need to see, what that color is and what that is called. But think of a child's imagination as something of a doorway, if they can see things that we cannot it may be the lost of innocence but not as we think. Its not the drama or responsibility that is placed on our shoulders it is more to the fact that if our parents cannot see them then neither should we.

Basically to a point we are sheep we follow those older than us even if we don't mean to.

Sorry I originally had an answer here, but the other answers are WAY better. I deleted mine. Sorry.

You should study engineering and study (formally) how to think for yourself.

"Our bodies are given life from the midst of nothingness. Existing where there is nothing is the meaning of the phrase, "Form is emptiness." That all things are provided for by nothingness is the meaning of the phrase, "Emptiness is form."' One should not think that these are two separate things.. "

The universe began with a word. But which was it ? The word? Or the thought behind the word? You can not create language without thoughts and you can't conceive a thought without language. So one created the other and the other create:smile: d the universe.
