Hey everyone, thanks for welcoming me in the 50 year old club. I am really enjoying all the presents: I got pneumonia for the first time in my life, I just loved the gurgling feeling of my lungs filled with fluid; I got Bell's Palsy last month and enjoy trying to eat/drink in public with stuff falling out the side of my mouth, talking funny and trying to keep one eye moist! Also, my little friend's get up and go has seemed to get up and left! Finally, the balding, the arthritis and the going to the bathroom every five minutes is a blast!

Someone please lie to me and tell me things get better.

I'll be 61 tomorrow, I take no medication except occasionally otc tylenol(can't take ibu) for muscle soreness from lifting weights, I had hip replacement for left hip in October just started jogging (walk 6 miles on treadmill at gym)3.2 miles to/from gym. Yes it gets better, but you have to work at it.................

I'm not 50 yet (not quite a year and a half to go) but my goal is to be in better shape at 50 than I was at 40. The only medications I take are aspirin or ibuprofen if something hurts, and allergy meds if there's a lot of pollen or mold in the air. I exercise, eat healthy and most of the time I don't feel much different from the way I did at 35... so far so good...

*crosses fingers*

Ain't that the truth. We have PVC Merry Walkers where I work. I have been thinking of making a PVC train and yelling, "All aboard". Because, of course, I would be the conductor.

Many people 50 are in good shape! Some older people are in better shape than many young people.

Hey folks, I'm new to the 50 + club too. I've been healthier, but never been happier. I finally know what is important in life, and can work towards my goals without worrying about what parents/husband/friends might think. Not that my goals are that high: my own house & garden, time with family, affection, a dog to walk ,a good book to read & a glass of wine.
