The point JB appears to be making is that if indeed EVERYONE were a sinner, then there'd be little use in one sinner pointing at another and crying, "Sinner!" That's why Judgment starts at the House of Israel. You as a believer have to know what sin is, been shown your sins( like parents to their children) to understand another persons walk. A short scripture that I think about all the time is this. James 4:17 17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. NKJV I see this verse to me as: If its in my power to help anyone including animals ect. If I know I could of helped with whatever it was and refuse.. Then it is sin to me.. nobody else |

I should probably note for purposes of this discussion that I'm pretty familiar with all the language and scriptural exegesis regarding Christian theology, given that I grew up in that tradition and was at one point a very seriously devout Christian. I am now a serious follower of a different faith, one that draws on Abrahamic as well as other sources for its spiritual teachings, but I do not hold the same beliefs I did when I identified as Christian. My view of God and of faith and of the relationship between humanity and divinity does not include the same concept of "sin" as is used in this discussion, because I see much of that as a human construct. Just wanted to clarify my position so as to avoid confusion. |

Either on sunday go to church or stay in the barracks and clean the toilets.. haha. what a choice. So I went to a different faith that called themselves Christian to see what they were all about.. I did not find what I was comfortable with for 10 years later. Grew up in what was called non denominational Christian church. As a family we cleaned the church the day before any service. Until I was 8. Then I was so stubborn I sat in the car for 4 years of sundays winter and all because of what my sunday school teacher said when teaching us the 10 commandments. he said the Sabbath ( 7th day) was on Sunday. well being a kid I looked on the calander and raised my hand. I said why does the calander show saturday as the 7th day. He said well JC rose on that day so that's when we keep it now. I said when did jesus keep it he said on Saturday. when we got done before church services I ran to my parents and told them I did not like this church no more.. They asked me why.. I said if they don't know when the 7th day is then how can I believe all the other stuff.. they laughed and allowed me to go to the car.. I never stepped back into that church until I was 19 and went to ask again. same answer. I am glad I had parents who let me have my stubbornness.. I am sure they thought when it got cold I would come in.. I was so stubburn.

Your beliefs refer to your sense of certainty on some of your thoughts. As soon as we believe in something, we search for ways to prove it's true.
