You guys know how much we love mingle. It's the home for us who have been around for ever and it's becoming a home for those of you who have just joined.

Sometimes when reading I see a pattern that reminds me of how we get to know someone when dating or starting a relationship. It comes on as a fury (like recent threads about sex and bodies) then settles into reality (the heart and soul of a person).

Are you able to make the change in your mind when it goes from "flash" to "real", or do you tend to run or have a hard time after the fire has burn down?

For me I like both but enjoy the warmth of the embers more than the excitement of the first flame.

You mean like starting out joking (or do you mean peacocking) then going to real stuff?

Both, but also all the focus on looks and the sex side of things as opposed to exploring who we are inside.

Last week I had two dates. I met these women at the same place (my pool), they both asked me out (no pressure), both were attractive (my taste). The one seemed like she had a very hard time getting away from looks and things. It got to sex talk fairly quick and kept drifting back. (yes guys your dream come true lol) but sex in Vegas is like flipping burgers, and I lost my interest. The second date we talked about anything and everything including sex but it wasn't the "must of the moment". Her depth came to the surface and came to the surface quickly. It doesn't take a brain doc to figure out which date I enjoyed more.

Today I was thinking maybe the one gal just had a hard time getting to what was real, but the sad thought came in that maybe she was stuck on the outside to the point of not being able to be real, or even finding the real girl inside of her.

Ya, maybe you'll see her another time and talk more about the real.

Well I'm sure I'll run into both of them, but thought the differences were interesting. The whole book & cover thing I think. As you say, it takes a while to get to the real.

BTW, looked at your profile for the first time. It's a very nice profile.

Deep is ok but I find people tell me a lot more than I need to know. When I cashier, I feel more like a bartender. People are lonely, me included. That is why I don't mind lending an ear.

As the innards have always interested me more
than the, er, outards, if I become interested
in someone (on M2) I go back and read every
freaking one of their posts.

That is eye-opening :-)

It will either re-affirm what you are thinking
about them, or, well, horrify you :-)

Time..settles all.

I have rushed to judgment on people sometimes
only to find out they had a bad day, or week,
etc..I try not to do that anymore.

to me its usuely instant mutual chemistry.
I can look at a woman once and think thats someone
I would spend my life with, she doesn't have to exude
Tons of personality, but just have a very friendly demeanor, and
genuinely be into me.
I'm very fisical and I'm affectionate so if she can have a nice look
towards me and she's real happy & likes to touch with a slow
hand then she dosent need to talk for the next 40 years.

I certainly would be more confortable if she was talking about sex,
Opposed to playing 20 questions.
Its nice not getting to serious in that aspect, its a date not a
trial or job interveiw or such, we want to have a good time.
I prefer a woman to like me because she likes me, thats just like I am,
feelings can start in the first second of locking eyes.
I do know this, if a woman asked you out and she comes
over, talking sex and you wanted to take the conversation
Into depth then she's properly not that happy about that.
What are you trying to do, hurt her self-esteem.
Nice guy..lol

thank you

I think human beings *NEED* *BOTH*. There's an excellent book on this called Mating in Captivity.

I think my marriage was 100% about the warmth of emotional safety and there was zero excitement. That kind of thing, obviously, can't last. ;)

Thank you for your comment about my new pic btw!! happy

some time we speak about frustration..
some time, about what pleases us..!!

looking for perfection ..is no more then a dream..!!
purifying imperfection is human efforts in love.

There are equal chance to loose or win,Its a spirit of balancing and
above & all...

*** there is nothing specific in love till we realize it..accept it..
& share it with additions.

For me the perfect recipe is a combination of both together. Besides, I think that initial fire burns a little longer if you don't try putting all the logs in the fireplace at once. laugh
