Topic: Is 50 a cutoff? Why will a woman date 12 years younger, but

I'm a little baffled. I've seen profiles by women in their late 40's, 47 or 48. And it says to contact them you must be 35 to 49. So you will date a man 13 years younger, but not 2 years older than you? It's just not what I expected.

not true here

I am 51. I prefer to date guys six years younger to six years older than myself. Any more age difference than that they tend to hate my 80's metal bands and have different values. Just my humble opinion.....flowerforyou :

I'm 40 and I love me some 80's metal. I can't a girl who is 22 cause then she will tell me how the Spice Girls are "classic rock". grumble noway laugh

I think everyone just has preferences...but I always say never leave anyone out. You never know who you might pass up that could be the person that you could fall for.
I sure hope that 50 is not a cut off because I will be 50 next year noway

I, for one, do not want a younger man. I want someone older, someone with whom I have a common ground of life experience. I want someone who lived through the same decades I did!

Makes sense to me, when you get a certain age you start to think about the long haul... am I right? Statistically men die younger(in years) than women do and that's a legitimate consideration. As for warranty, it's rarely honoured anyway!(or am I biased because I drive a Ford?)

I just have a hard time finding ANYONE that I am interested in romantically

I admit to being picky, but so many of the men I meet just want to either be controlling, play games, or pick arguments

all turn offs 1,2,3

just plain nice and well mannered would be fine

I think, its pretty sad that people are more focused on age than on the person's character and good qualities. As long as one has the desired mental and physical chemistry with a potential partner, who cares about the number? it's all media b.s. lets all get down to earth....shall we?laugh pitchfork

how do you know I'm not those things? I never said I did not like the men I meet. usually I do. I am having difficulty finding a romantic connection. it may be a trust issue....having hard time going beyond simply friendship
