The answer to this sort of thing is within you, not the other. Easy to focus on the other, how wrong he/she is treating you, but ... YOU let it happen. YOU lend them a shoulder to cry on.
Sometimes it's good to do some soul-searching and ask yourself why you do this? What do you gain from it? (These things are always a two-way street even though it might not seem that way).
Many ppl want to be needed, want to help and advise other ppl. Oftentimes ppl do this as it takes the focus of their own problems. Maybe not huge problems, but most of us have things we rather not look into the eye.
The question "Why do I need to be needed?" can be an eyeopener. If you can, dare and are willing to be really honest that is.

If you manage to change this thing within yourself, you automatically attract other ppl. (Law of Attraction)
And even if ppl come to you for advice, you'll deal with it differently --> you won't feel offended anymore if they ignore you afterwards. It has stopped being a personal issue.

It is my experience that the world treats us like we tell it to treat us. Our self-image, attitude, posture, communication, etc send signals to everyone with whom we interact and most respond accordingly.

If we don't like what comes back, perhaps we should examine what we send out.

I expect to be treated in the manner in which I treat others. If they don't...I don't spare them much of my time. That may seem selfish or unsympathetic, but think about it...if they don't recognize your value as a person worthy of their time and effort...will your loss really hurt them? Don't kid yourself.

I don't get it..

"How people treat you"...

Why would it make a difference how people treat you?

People are pretty screwed up.

There is nothing you can do about how people treat you.

You can be good or bad..THAT is what you got control of...

Someone treats you bad....be good.

Someone treats you good...be good.

If that is too complex...just throw em down an old abandoned well and shoot them.

But that would not be good, would it Krupa?
Be good, do good and you can't go wrong, at least within yourself and that's what matters.

people only treat you the way you allow them to treat you.

if it's a reoccurring theme, you have only yourself to blame.
