Kind of curious: Who's read the book(s) and who's just waiting for the movie to come out?

As far as I know, most ppl didn't buy the books, sort of like one per family and then it was lent to friends, aunties and cousins and so on. Considering the nature of the books, not very hygienic

I read a preview of the first one on my ereader and wasn't that impressed. No way I'd pay to read it.

This is middle class titillation as the repressive religious right in its denial of sexual variations insures its success as the more you deny something the more it will persist. Note the similarity in the war on drugs, the elimination of prostitution, both are not controlled by religious dogma and people will sin today then go confess then sin again.. Human nature wil prevail in spite of innumerable efforts to the contrary....

It started out as Twilight fanfiction, if that tells you anything.

I've never read the book but my understanding of the subject matter, I think it's stupid.

I don't think it's stupid, think it's quite good that the BDSM scene gets lit from a different angle. Mostly ppl only know of the very extreme BDSM stuff from what they see on silly tv programmes or hear through the grapevine. But there's many shades of grey till you get to that extreme area. I doubt whether most BDSMers go that far anyway.

It's a bestseller in the US and UK so someone must have bought it, shades
They'll start shooting the movie approx November. Anyone interested in seeing it when it comes out?

I haven`t read the books, but have heard their quite good. Just glad Charlie Hunnam isn`t acting the part of Christian Grey for the movie now. Didn`t want to see the actor who plays Jax on Sons of Anarchy do that role.

Read the first book. It was awful writing. I read better erotic books. Not looking forward to the movie either. Found no one interested. Sorry

I loved the books!!! I'm a huge twilight fan and am in love with Robert Pattinson so as I'm reading of course I see him...I am very excited to see the movie when it comes out next year...I wanted Alexander SkarsgοΏ½rd as Christian Grey but that didn't happen...

I wonder how the guy they chose in the end is going to do as Christian Grey. He seems just a tad too young to me

I read some of it and thought it was lame. Proves you hype a book enough you can make it sell. Kind of seems like a flash in the pan.

Totally agree!!! This is too mainstream for me. Anytime me , mom and Gran are talking about a bondage and domination in the supermarket. This isn't the book for me.

Not to take away from the people who love it! To each his own

READ CHERISE SINCLAIR'S " CLUB SHADOWLANDS" bet they won't be talking about this in the supermarket pitchfork

I read the books and enjoyed them despite the writing not being the best. I'm also looking forward to the movie.

Great, you made me order two books from Amazon now, hahahaha
That was NOT on my agenda, lol
I was reading the preview on line, quite a lot of pages, got totally sucked into the story. Then, when it's about to become really hot, I'd reached the end of the frigging preview GRRRRRRRR
