I always tells my son "life ain't Burger King. Can't always have it your way"

I've noticed these days more and more people want it their way and NOW.

Maybe I'm just less patient in my old age. Has anyone else noticed a rise in spoiled brats...young and old? Why do you think?

I'm a tech at a doctor's office and we take walk ins. I just had a walk in storm out because he was going to have to wait

All the time Dear; all the time.

What knocks me out is the ones who have the least reason to be demanding are usually the worst.

its not a good idea to underestimate the immaturity of many undersocialized people

Sorry that you have to put up with that. I completely understand. I can't tolerate impatient people. It happens everywhere. Sometimes I just shake my head, and I think to myself things like "Why does that person expect special treatment?", or "Who do they think they are?". Luckily, my sense of humor keeps me going, even in bad situations. So maybe it's all about practising peaceful thoughts, meditation, etc. flowerforyou. I don't mean to sound like some new-age hippie. lol. I just think that if you find stuff to quiet the mind, then sometimes it won't seem half as bad.

I think do to fast foid, fast internet....blah blah, people want everything fast. And the fast that once was isn't fast enough

Or people think their way is the only way

I tell my cadets if they want something, they have to work for it. As for spoiled brats, Christmas is an ideal time to see that. I was reading some articles of kids that said they hated their parents because they didn't get an I-phone last Christmas and I am sure this Christmas will be no exception as now they will want the latest and greatest model or they will have hissy fits. laugh

I work in retail and I see it all the time. Today a Lady was giving one of the associates a hard time wanting something we didn't offer. She went off wanting a supervisor (me). When I tried to help her she blatantly told me she wanted what she wanted and because she was "the bit*h" she was gonna get it. Lol! (I love my job.) My response was "I'm sorry ma'am but No, we don't offer what your needing. Have a nice day." My question is...when did being a Bit*h become something to brag about?

Makes you wonder doesn't it.

I think it was when music, and other media (and advertisers) promoted it. Look at how many gold records thugs have, how many seasons Springer and Bridezilla type shows have run?

We let thugs get in a brawl and they cancelled the entire community celebration trashing thousands of dollars of investments.

I think it starts at home too. How many families set passively by while one brat makes life miserable for everybody. Kids scream, curse, hit, destroy their homes, refuse to honor even basic health practices with no threat of limits. Try and keep a kid out of sports or take their cell phone away because they haven't done their home chores and some dumb *** teacher or therapist will tell you (s)he is being socially stunted. God for bid you actually defend yourself when they attack someone or set fire to the place. You put a kid in "treatment" it is a resort community that will bankrupt you.

We are scared to death to have any limits on kids anywhere. Public resturant's , grocery stores, retailers let them run wild because kids have more rights than paying customers. I was recently called to the hospital ICU and there was kids running wild in the waiting room and hall way .

I really see people seeking private club memberships where children are not allowed soon.

I am really pretty glad I live in a Senior's on community. I love children but when they visit I see how the trend is growing.

We also must understand though that we have helped to create this world and mindset.

We were born (those around my age) into the "me" world where many parents were starting to drift away from some of the family values that gave responsibilities over to us to help us grow. We were the generation in many ways of defile and rebellion. TV and stereo were born and so was a passtime of getting stoned. Our parents told us "wait till your kids grow up" and you know, they were right. We grew up one step away from respect and these kids are growing up even further from the guidence of stability.

Who would have ever thought for example we as a nation would be looking at taking guns out of everyones hands in order to control a few which is certainly heading toward the many. Where we live in a world of kids that are actually following their parents guidence into becoming people on GOV aid. A people who are trying to figure out how not to work instead of a people who wouldn't know what to do if they had to stop working.

We must realize that we are the generation of creating a world that has never been done before and we are the ones who are trying to pass it off as "always been" or "norm". Two generations (from my studies in history) ago we did not look at a thing called retirment. This is something that back then was done as a family proccess and not a saving up based proccess. The generations would live and pass on, and there was no system of give to government and goverment pay backs in the same sense as we see and use it today. There was a system and in some ways it was worse, but in some ways it was also better.

When you make a system of how to beat the system what we have now is what we get. Some day they will be studying us and say "How did these people survive"? The "me" generations which we have made and living in the middle of is full of people who can only see what benefits them. It has grown so big and abusive that when one man tries to make a change he is gun down or worse ignored, scrutinized and discredited.

I always thought that freedom was to be about doing what was right and not so much doing what we want. Now we have debates over what is right and what is wrong, knowing full well if it does harm to us or harm to others chances are it's wrong. We actually debate these lines rather than seeing the clarity of negativity vs positive. And then we defend our right to offend and call it freedom.

The whole thing to me is screwy and is something I try to be a part of from a safe distance.

Another example. I use to be a very small part of the religious and political scene, but after years of seeing how two things that should be thought of as helpful have become walls of anger, strife and self ambition, and the fact that they have become money driven instead of helping driven, you can count me out. People say you have to be a part to make a difference, and I'm saying make a difference and let the parts fall where they will. It's much easier and more profitable for me to spend my time making a difference than to argue about the changes we must make, and doing it out of anger. I have found it much easier to be a doer than a debater, and it takes up less time.

As always my 25cents when you are asking for 2 lol

Well said, Mikey drinker.

I'm just as peeved about this ruined world as you are. I won't pretend it's all sunshine and rainbows.

There was this one odd time, where I almost flipped out at the housing assocation I pay rent to. I guess sometimes we have a right to. It was just that they were in the local newspaper, getting credit for "rewarding effort for keeping neighborhoods safe". I almost laughed with surprise. Them? Credit for protecting our streets? They don't. I've rung them up quite a few times, complaining to the housing officer, about how there's teens throwing fireworks at people's windows (mine included), and telling the officer how unsafe we all feel, living on this street. They always say they'll look into it, but they never do. They just want to make a profit from renting houses out. I'm done with that housing company. I keep trying to find somewhere better to live. And whoever is responsible for these immature teenagers, they never worry about what their own children are up to. Sad to say.

The perception acceptable now is that what used to be right and just and decent, is not wrong, unjust and indecent. Everything has been turned upside down, inside out, and twisted up. Still, we all must be sure to keep our own values steady, without being sucked into the illusion. Difficult to do, but certainly not impossible. Sooner or later, what goes around, comes around. I would like to have good and just and decent come my way, so that's what I must show out of myself to others. JMHO.

I was shocked today; at the grocery the manager actually had the cops take two kids that had been being "hellions " taken out of the store by cops. People actually applauded. Think people are getting sick of paying for this kind of waste.

I think today's mindset is one of instant gratification, like being able to send a text & have an immediate response.
I've seen so many posts that someone doesn't get expected "results" after 1-3 days. Patience seems non existent these days..

That is awful. I think this is why I love teaching the cadets. These kids are polite, always trying to help, and very mature for their age. I had my cadets write "thank you" letters to the vets and one cadet wrote such a heart warming letter that it almost brought me to tears. I was very impressed by such thoughtfulness by an 11 year old.

I'm on board with this, I work with the public and they expect you to answer a question as quick as their computer screen. The other day I watched a tourist punch the steel plating on the elevator because people took to long getting off.
