In the last six years, i've been in four failed relationships. Really need to get my acts right

Maybe its not just you. It takes two to have a relationship so if it fails, the problem is 50/50. Don't be so hard on yourself.

I agree with Navy, unless you were like hugely abusive or whatever, it's not your entirely your fault.

Try not to dwell on the failed one's. You'll only drag yourself further downhill. Maybe there's a reason you haven't found someone else yet.

It could pay off to think why these relationships failed. Did all partners come up with similar arguments? Often one can find a lot of answers with a bit of analysis.

Other people do not make you feel alone that comes from within you.. The others cannot fix what is inside you as that is your job not theirs...Perhaps a counselor might help you actually see what role you play in these feelings you describe...

In my case, my ex got upset because I didn't "need" her. That is true, I didn't., but I wanted her. When she stopped needing me she left. I want to be wanted not needed. I want to meet a woman that does not want to be needed. Hint.

Totally agree. Personally I hate needy people and I am not a needy person myself.

I tend to agree someone that has a laundry list of drama and all these "needs" for me to have to wade through is going to get passed over.

Doesn't freak me out if a guy has a job he has to work around, parent's he has to be respectful to, even kids he has to be a parent to, has a few extra pounds or other health stuff (heck after thirty the perfect specimen starts to age)or normal stuff like that.

What I am not going to deal with is paying for someone else's sins, cleaning up messes, self inflicted craziness, and being so gutless that I prematurely end up being the babysitter.

It's true, no matter how we tried to seek advice for other people at the end of the day it s only us can help ourselves. What we feel inside, what the pains can cause us. :)

Dwelling on who is at fault, why, is it me, what could I have did to fix it will only have you stuck. Sometimes there are no answers or at least answers we don't want to and never will accept. I just got out of a 2yr spree of disaster. And it hurts it does , but if I allow myself to get stuck I'll never find happiness in any relationship.

the worst pain is to be in a relationship and feel MORE alone than if you actually were alone

Getting stuck over analyzing relationships and ignoring that even the smartest and the nicest just have to deal with what sometimes happens makes sense to me.

A little personal development and accepting you are the Captain of your own boat and you will have a better journey in life with a plan and a check list isn't a bad idea either.

I tried to learn form my mistakes and whenever possible some of the mistakes I saw people doing with others. Success and failure tends to have markers and develop from bad habits or living with examples. Sometimes it is easier to see what you want or don't want by watching how their friends, family, and neighbordhood act.
