Neither is hard for me. Cooperating / helping in both directions seems natural and mutually beneficial. All of us have energy or items that we can or could share with others and others have things that they can or could share with us -- without disadvantage to either party.

Our cultures tend to promote possessiveness, greed and often "what's in it for me" attitudes that are unnecessarily and unwisely divisive.

Recieving it is more difficult for me. I never like to think I'm bothering anyone with any problem I might have.

Im with John

I give and receive equally

its harder to 'give' if I don't have and harder to ask others when I know thy don't have

otherwise, there is as much of an emotional reward to helping others as there is a financial reward in being helped..

I'm terrible at asking for help. Would rather drag my azz over broken glass.
I never turn down a "reasonable" request for help.

I can help anybody whenever they need me, but to ask for help I prefer walk the extra mile rather than ask others unless i ask my kids!

Ditto...I'd help anyone who needed my help, but I don't like to ask for help unless it is completely and totally unavoidable.

Yup this is me too.

I have gotten a lot better at determining what is a reasonable request for help. Guess you get stung enough you get a little jaded. Also with so many people really needing help you kind of have to prioritize.

I figure anyone who is online has about slim and none as a chance of getting into my pocket. Been a select few I would put myself out to help as a friend with brainstorming solutions and information but even there I direct most of my "helping' efforts at people with way bigger problems than I see here.

There was one time, when I was being bullied, and I needed help with proving it. This was before mobile phones and internet were invented. So it was harder to prove, if you didn't have anything to record it on. I could have asked for more help back then.

Another time, I'd been mocked by two radio presenter's, live on air, for showing support. The support I was showing for them was quite low-key. So I ended up feeling slightly scarred, soon after they'd made it quite clear they weren't as nice as I thought. I really wanted to go to all the british journalist's, and get their name's shamed. I mean look at what happened when Kyle and Jackie O, set up that horrible prank, only for it to end with the poor nurse killing herself. Bullies still seem to get away with a lot, and they shouldn't. And it just disgust's me.
