I know a good woman in her 50 yr age, was going thru' her divorce after 5 yr of separation when her ex.. found someone new. She has a new friend they exchange personal photos. After 2 months of communication he told her he likes her photo and want to go deeper in the relationship and told her that he needs someone beside him, and he can't do without her....and want to spend the rest of his life with her. He doesn't mind to come and meet her. She had scammers before this man so she fears of new scammer and said; "if this one is a scammer that will destroy me."
I advised her to go to the end of their relationship and meet him as soon as possible even if she is in the divorce process. I know this process is very harmful to the woman especially if she is a mom. Do you have any advice to her?

good for you that is the way it should. Remember we can only make ourselves happy and has to come from within not expect a relationship to make us happy.. Life should be lived moment by moment and to the fullest.. A relationship should compliment that not be the sole perpetuator of someones happiness as this will only lead to disappointment.

Hey Wallis dont be so negative.I guess you prob get disheartened because you havent met the right person. Hey I have been married twice and decided to get out of the dating scene because I obviously have poor taste in men. Well I jumped in again and got a little burrrned but it made me think about my life and I decided to stop letting life pass me by. I am making sime big changes in my life and feel full of energy.Dont stop living because you dont have a partner!

I have a better chance of winning the lottery than I do of meeting a soul mate. laugh

Maybe you are just on the wrong site, you have a nice profile and interests. DHU has a much better group and larger on the forums. As many posts as you have here this probably will not appeal to you, but you really should try something new. I have posted here a few times but find it an unfriendly place for the most part. Good Luck in your search! Alby

Sorry you havent had a positive time here....i for one have met some amazing compassionate people....in the forums. As a dating site? Meh...but do stick around and chat...maybe you will change your mind.flowerforyou

Thanks: I just got back and read this. Seems few stay long here, just went to every lady's profile on this "Topic" and only the over 1,000 posts are still here. All the rest have deleted or not been online in over 30 days. Will try a little longer as at least some are friendly on here.waving

I hope you find what you are looking for. I took my photo and info off as all I got was scammers. Just come here to chat occasionally.

I believe we can still meet our soul mate after 50, just have to go out and find what we want. I know what I want and I will look until I find him, I will never settle, I will find.

In reply, through this site the dating has not worked well, but I've made a lot of really good friends! At first I contemplated and was willing to respond to relationship requests from anywhere, but experience has taught me that this will not work for me as I have no intention of moving away from where I am currently or within 200 miles from here. On another site however I have had several dates and have met some really good men who will actually meet you. It's been a very nice experience on that site but as for this site, I love the forums and especially the games section, on which I am an avid player, which explains my high posting count! Best wishes!

I'm quite new to this site, I like that it's free. But there are a lot of scammers, mainly from Africa.

I dunno about the soulmate thing. I once thought that I'd found my soulmate, and then she left 3 months later. After that, I looked at the soulmate cliche differently. I suppose that a soulmate can be meant to be in one's life for but a short period of time, but that does seem nonsensical to me.

Recently I've learned that there's also such a thing as a "twin flame", which is somewhat different than a soulmate. It may be worth looking into the twin flame thing as well.
In ending, I can say that I don't feel that I've ever encountered my soulmate, nor my twin flame, and am not sure that I even believe in such things any more.
If you are one who does, may the FORCE be with you!

I never lose hope in meeting a great love. Nothing ventured nothing gained. I think online dating sites with all their negatives have far more positives to offer. People who aren't willing to take a chance get what they give. Nothing.

Agreed. Meeting a great love (or life companion, etc.) is a wonderful thought. It happens. I guess that I have the soulmate definition incorrect, in that I've always thought of a soulmate as a soul that I had known in a previous life or something.
I guess that the true meaning of a soulmate is "a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner.".
In that context, I would most certainly be a believer!
Sorry for my confusion.

I was going to say that maybe you have to have lived a few decades to realize just how important a soul mate might be, particularly if you didn't necessarily believe it before. Besides, looking for one later in life is a great way to stay young in just about every way (except for the gradual falling apart of our bodies LOL). Between here and there, a good hike, or dinner, or drinks at a fun bar, or even a vacation getaway are nice waysto fill the time while searching.
