It's not gay to just be friends with a woman. It's good practice for developing the communication tools that you need for a romantic relationship and in time you stop zoning out and just thinking about getting into their pants when they're chattering.

Hey, I can out chatter any woman. I wasn't being sexist. What I'm saying is that I'm a new man and I really was paying attention when my friend told me the other night that she had fallen out with her friend Norma over something to do with a pen when they went to the bingo. I got the jist of it anyway.

Why would it be gay for a man to be friends with a woman in the first place? Or to hang out with them, and so forth? What does that have to do with sexual orientation or anything sexual at all?

Well, not wanting to have sex with women is arguably a bit gay. I mean, it's not like I hang around with a bunch of minggers.

I like having my female friends, can bounce ideas off them without all the ridicule you sometimes get from male friends.

Why would a "man" want to have sex with "women"? A man wants to make love to his "woman". A man wouldn't have time to seek women, cause he would be to terribly busy looking for that one "woman".

Exactly, when it comes to "friends" it doesn't matter the gender regardless if they're male or female. I actually prefer female friends. They are more fun, playful "in a non-sexual way", and just all around more pleasant to hang around in general.

Cowboy, your rhetoric makes little sense to me. You talk about seeking "the one" and socialising with women as if these are two different activities. I like women and I'm atracted to them. Yes, I prefer the company of women too and not just for the sake of getting my hole but if the friendship is there and I find a woman sexy I need a reason to disqualify her as a potential mate.

Guys have friendship with girls because they can bond differently than with other guys. They can ask for advice that they might get teased for asking other guys. Having an easy friendship with ladies doesn't make a man gay

Yes indeed and when you aren't trying to get your end away with them you can just take or leave their advice instead of letting them be the boss of you. It's not gay at all and I don't take advantage of them when they're drunk.

Because we live in a society in which so many have lost their self esteem and need to promote their looks, their wealth and other physical attributes rather than their ability to communicate and participate intelligently.
'Sex sells' has become the Marketing Sirens beacon for 50 years now, being the good little Maslow sages that they are, knowing that we have 'needs un-fullfilled'(one of those being the constant, sexual gratification). And now, later down that road as a society of people we believe it to be true.
So now we're 'gay' if we want opposite gender platonic relationships or maybe some things 'wrong' because we don't come on to a woman within the first few times of contact.

I tutor the Algebra courses at our college. In the first 3 lessons with female students 50% of the time is spent insuring them that I am not there for alternative reasons.... btdt. THEN, we can get to their mathematical problems.

Ugh!

Yeah, wasn't like that in the olden days. Back when I were a lad we all played with girls and made daisy chains and now all that these young people think about is sex.
