Topic: Defending President Obama

No such person as a flawless American President has ever existed. So, it is to be expected that the political opponents of President Obama would point out flaws in his presidency.

Yet, being flawed is not an excuse for others to vilify.

The vilification of any American President is something that I am opposed to, including the vilification of President Obama. Sure, I have spoken negatively about his decisions while serving as POTUS, but I have made no attempt to vilify the man.

Before going on, I want to mention something that should be obvious. Some of the people who seek to vilify President Obama are doing so simply because they are opposed to a Democrat being the POTUS.

Well, you have to blame the Republican Party for the current lack of a Republican in the Oval Office. In 2008 and 2012, the GOP did not offer a presidential nominee that the majority of American voters considered to be a better alternative to Mr. Obama.

On the other hand, you have to blame the racists in the Democratic Party for the start of the vilification of Mr. Obama. It was Hillary Clinton's racist* Democrat supporters who started the hoax that Mr. Obama was born in Kenya. Fox News has repeatedly demonstrated that Mr. Obama's Hawaii birth certificate is genuine, but that hasn't been enough to stop the promotion of the hoax.

That particular hoax was followed by the continued hoax that Mr. Obama is a Muslim. People knowledgeable about the requirements of Islam are able to see through that hoax, but not everyone in America is knowledgeable about the requirements of Islam.

I'll leave it to others to point out the actual mistakes that Mr. Obama has made while serving as POTUS, and he has definitely made mistakes. Still, those mistakes don't justify the continued attempt to vilify him.

Now, could it be that some attempts at such vilification are due to anti-black racism? Yes, of course. That was evident when Mr. Obama competed to win his party's nomination back in 2008. The racists in the Democratic Party didn't want him to win the nomination. They couldn't find a philosophical excuse for vilifying him, and so, they started the Obama-born-in-Kenya hoax in an attempt to derail his campaign.

Still, it is going too far to claim that racism is the motivation for all criticism of Mr. Obama. Like it or not, people have legitimate grievances about Mr. Obama's performance as POTUS.

Of course, black racists and people emotionally married to the Democratic Party aren't going to acknowledge those legitimate grievances against Mr. Obama, just as people emotionally married to the Republican Party had difficulty acknowledging the legitimate grievances that people had against previous Republican Presidents.

So, what is behind the vilification of Mr. Obama, behind the promotion of Obama Derangement Syndrome? Is it merely a hatred for the statism, socialism and liberalism that Mr. Obama has apparently embraced?

I think that it is something much more basic.
In Mark 10:18 and Luke 18:19, Jesus says, "No one is good - except God alone."
In Romans 3:10, the Apostle Paul writes, " As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one."

For those people who don't believe the New Testament's teachings, I offer this insight from comic-strip character Dilbert: "My stress is way down since I discovered that all Humans are irrational."

Granted, throughout Human history, there have been people who earned vilification. Adolf Hitler is one of them; Barack Obama isn't.

In closing, I expect to be criticized for saying what I have said here.
I have that expectation because Dilbert is correct. All Humans are irrational.
Thankfully, I am a Melmacian.

[*Someone might ask how I know that the Democrats who started the Obama-born-in-Kenya hoax are racists. Well, a Democrat acquaintance of mine insists that most Americans are racists. So, I apply that claim to the Democratic Party. If the Republican Party is full of racists, then the Democratic Party is full of racists, too. That is the logical conclusion of the claim made by my Democrat acquaintance.]

I am a critic of Obama. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin. I know he is as far left as is humanly possible and the far left, in my heart, is killing the US. I think the debt has reached a point where the US dollar will fall. I think 50% of the US being on some form of welfare is outrageous! I think giving illegal aliens more consideration than citizens is crazy.

The lack of respect the US has overseas in face of a rapidly expanding terrorist threat speaks for itself. The inability for Obama to use the term "Islamic terrorist" speaks volumes that, he may not be a Muslim, but he defers to them in grossly inappropriate ways.

The mis-truths he told about Obamacare are now legendary; a program intended more for wealth redistribution than any other factor.

I truly believe his pro-socialist actions, such as flooding the country with illegal aliens to secure a Democratic voting block, will so overburden the country with welfare costs as to further bankrupt an already bankrupt country.

Even many of his former loyal supporters have deserted him. He is the worst president in history.

From my perspective, Democrat President Andrew Jackson is the worst President because of what he did to Native Americans, in defiance of a SCOTUS ruling.

I disagree. Even if Hillary had called him perfect...These same people would be doing exactly as they are now.

I agree totally! His actions show his loyalties are anywhere but with the the US and what is best for this nation. IMHO his loyalties lie in another agenda. I seldom respond to political threads being a non-political person but I believe he does have an agenda which favors the intents of the ruling elite in the US and will sell himself to the highest bidder. JMHO. The US deserved better but got the very least. I had high hopes he would be better than that, however it is clear he will never rise to the occasion and will remain a puppet on a string. Totally only my opinion!

I can only say that I respect your opinions and I like Obama for he is the third president whom have advocated for the monitories other than Carter and Kennedy. Yes! You are right that there a no perfect people and Obama has made some mistakes but we all know that one man doesn't run this country for real. We are so divided as a nation that it is sickening and our children are the ones who are suffering the most. I just keep hoping and praying that one day Martin Luther King's Dream will come...

mistakes..? like trading someone who abondoned thier post for 5 hi level operatives..? A mistake is making a wrong turn, not destroying foreign relations with almost every country on earth,or running up a debt more than any other president by a factor of two or three,,... i might argue that he has taken a giant step BACKWARD on race in reality, for using the race card whenever anyone calls him out on his inept actions... for one...
im glad you finally got your black president, and i do appreciate the significance of all that, but this guy is just not qualified to manage this country. period.

he has done a dandy job of "villianizing" himself. everything from cash for clunkers until today. I, and a LOT of other people blame Obama for what he has done, and tried to do, rather than hillary, or race, or whatever other diversion you all can dream up.

Those were different times. I understand your logic but Jackson did not consider the Native Americans citizens and did consider them a threat to the interests of the US (flawed as that logic may be). Using the same standards, Truman could be considered the worst by the fact that he dropped the atom bomb on Japan.

Obama is the only one who is actively converting the US to a socialist country.

Dodo I AGREE,, woo hoo,,lol

anyone making such absolute claims is absolutely delusional

as far as him being the worst though, I have to laugh as a person of African American descent

for it is hard, try to understand, for me to see ANYTHING americans are 'suffering' now as being worse than the history of centuries of legally owning humsns,, and all the presidents who seemed to oversee those times,, to me,, could be said to be much worse than Obama would ever have a CHANCE at being

yet, the country survived even through the abomination that was slavery and jim crow,, and I truly don't see anything of comparison that the country wont survive now

so claims of how he is the 'worst' president and his few years will 'destroy' us just always amaze me...and do point to a certain racial blindness and lack of compassion for others experiences,,,,

You don't have to look far to find many who think that the debt Obama has created (with the help of other Democrats) will cause a collapse of the US dollar. If that happens, the US will be destroyed economically in exactly the same way as the Soviet Union.

Obama has already destroyed the status quo of US as the sole superpower by showing weakness. His destruction of the US military has emboldened China who will soon surpass the US in naval power.

Obama's goals appear to be to destroy the power of the US worldwide and replace it with an isolationist welfare state.

You should try to see the world without the black racist filter.

you should try to see it without media spin

how do you prove that

the 'status quo' has been destroyed due to signs of 'weakness'? what is the subjective standard by which one determines that a 'status quo' is destroyed? is he the first or only president to show 'weakness'? and how is that defined?

how did he 'destroy' the military?

silly little fact: China still spends about One Fourth on its military of what we spend in USD

http://www.globalfirepower.com/defense-spending-budget.asp

and again with the spin of how he trying to have a 'welfare state'

which 'welfare' is the culprit? medicare and Medicaid? social security? food stamps and tanf? cause conservatives love to lump them all together to come up with their numbers and their complaints while ignoring that none of said programs were created by this President and replacing it with spin that he is somehow the 'welfare' president,,,,

you should stop seeing the world with such a media/sensationalist lens,,,,

yall need to make up your minds

but only AFTER you actually understand the vernacular used by blacks regarding the term 'tom'

it refers to a black person , who has reached a position of favor or success, and not only does not care to associate with where they came from or reach back to help lift obstacles faced by people still there,,

but publicly and often aligns with those who would prefer to keep as many of those 'others' back, to gripe and reaffirm their bigoted views about how undeserving and inferior 'those others' are

,,,but, literally, its impossible for the President to be a Tom, if his decisions are being based solely on 'race' as some allege,,,if he is giving away phones to black people, as some allege, if he is expanding welfare for whites AND BLACKS, as some allege

etc,,etc,,,etc,,,

Im sure the point will be over the heads of many, but I want to post it for the more well informed who may read but not participate in the threads,

Furthermore, if you had actually read up on the term Uncle Tom, you would know it's from a book called 'Uncle Tom's Cabin'.

Through a comedy of errors and misinterpretations, people forget that Uncle Tom was actually using his cabin to help FREE BLACK SLAVES!

He was the pro black hero helping blacks!

He wasn't the villain in the novel. That was another dude that was the sellout. But because the book title says "Uncle Tom"...People just applied that term to a sellout, forgetting that "Tom" was the pro black hero helping blacks escape tyranny.

^^ See? Now you know why I be just sitting here watching you call Obama an Uncle Tom..

And just saying to myself.."Bless his heart. He's trying so hard to insult. But doesn't even know what the hell he's talking about."

And I was gonna leave like that too.

Until Harmony spoiled my fun, and lifted you out of ignorance.

Now everyone who is working , is working part time, for minimum wage, and wi th no insurance, because the employer cant afford to pay you full time and o pay for insurance..., Leaving them to pay it by themselves..., there are no more 200.00 cars because of cash for clunkers, .. ect ect..
You know.., If i quit my job the govt would put a roof on my house, pay for my firewood, and my utilities., and feed me...?

Now, getting back to defending President Obama ...

Folks, President Obama, like his predecessors, is used as Scapegoat-in-Chief for things that he has no control over.

Also, for some strange reason, people in the USA tend to expect the POTUS to wave a magic wand and produce instant results.
