You are not fooling anyone. if you have a picture of a buff model as your photo then i will not message you back. This also shows me that you did not read my profile to see what type of men I like. I like nerdy men who are not obsessed with their physique.
You are just a person hiding behind a persona. A catfish is what you are. Even if you are not very confidant put your real photo. it is way more becoming. be yourself, and you will go far.

I really don't understand why a guy would put up a fake pic. I don't have my pic on the site, but will give it to a woman should we hit it off and she wants it. That just how I do it. And it will be a recent pic of me.. not some model. I know 1/2 of the woman profiles are fake and I know why.. its a scam. But I don't know what would possess a guy to put up a fake pic. Do they go in with the intension that they are never going to actually meet a woman in person?. Is it some sort of game?. Both scenario's are wacked. I would think the guys come here to meet woman.. what do they then do , shock the hell out of her at the 1st meeting by being some short, fat, bald guy when you passed yourself off as a Greek God.. I just don't get it

Aren't we all a little fake on here? Some put a photo of 20 years ago of ourselves, they become empowered with themselves to the point the individual really don't remember who they are! There are some i talk to on here that are (the real people of mingle) stepping out of their elements to meet and talk to another (real person) to maby better their lives! My cellphone number is on my profile to talk to anyone on here! That is what (REAL) is all about. I don't believe in nothing fake especially on a dating site it leaves out the trying one has to do in reality everyone has to do to meet (Good People)!! Most Live for the Drama not the Romance of (a true relationship)! That's another emotion lots of Humans forget with this Computer technology! I look at this daily on here!! Bust of luck to All!!!

Read your profile. From a guy's p.o.v.- It shows that you like lot of things that guys like - EXCEPT guys, dislike so many things, that dating you becomes a minesweeper game and should poor bloke make a mistake somewere by saying or doing smth wrong- there goes the pepperspray. You're scaring the living **** out of nerds.

In real life looks are the first impression so if people don't put their real picture they want to stay hidden and are not interested in more. But honestly who wants their picture on a dating website? It's a little strange but if it means finding a good partner then it was worth it. So, that's why I have my picture up and that's why some don't I think.

You are not fooling anyone. if you have a picture of a buff model as your photo then i will not message you back

So you're advocating having at least 2 profiles then?
1 with a buff fake picture, and 1 with some slob picture?

You are kind of implying that you guarantee you will respond to anyone that doesn't have a buff model picture on their profile.

. This also shows me that you did not read my profile to see what type of men I like

No one cares what type of men you like except you.
Putting it in your profile is not going to do anything except drive away the type of guy you actually like.

When you put that in your profile, about the type of person you "like" then what you are saying is "I have absolutely no desire to look at profiles, or look for the type of guy I like. I just want to sit back and have that guy come get me. Plus you have to determine if I'd like you or want to talk to you, and you have to do that how I would do it." You are expecting your profile, and other people, to do all the work for you.

No guys like princess attitudes like that.
Except the ones that will treat you like a princess solely in exchange for you giving them what they want. And usually first.
And they are going to write to you no matter what you put in your profile just to see if negotiation is possible and worth it.

You are just a person hiding behind a persona

That's everyone here.
Your picture and profile make up an avatar.
That's your online persona.
You don't get out from behind your persona until you actually start dating and spending time face to face with people where you are unable to have complete control over the information they get from you.

Even if you are not very confidant put your real photo

Until you meet someone you can never know if they are really using their "real" photo.
Except when you fall into a false sense of security.
So at best all you are saying is "use what I would consider a more realistic fake photo to fool me. Not some hot guy."

be yourself, and you will go far.

In my experience nearly 100% of the time there is an unsaid "only if yourself is someone that fulfills what I think you should be, then I will judge you 'good' and think you will go far."

What if being "himself" is adopting a "persona" in order to protect himself, because he's insecure about himself?
You still think he will "go far?" If you realized that's "really" who he is would you still date him?
I doubt it.

in real life or online if looks s all that counts, im not interested. I understand what the op is saying about not looking for a great physique because she wants someone who has a good mind as well.

I don't often have the pic of me as my primary pic. I have found that those who want to know me will still take the time to talk and when we take time to find common ground, I'm more than happy to share pucs because it's not a superficial attraction.

wish everyone the best
