Some maybe are wanted..laugh laugh

That's true actually.... a friend from here just told me she was harassed by a date, and it turns out he has a record! Don't know whether that date is from here though???

I don't see the shame if you are a single prominent person (though things get VERY sticky if you're married or have a long-standing relationship) who has their picture on a dating site. Like everything else, it depends on what standards you have, and how careful you are in selecting your mate (for example, making sure they're not just marrying you for your fame, money, or social status).
And frankly, I wouldn't accept that as an excuse if I ever heard it. If you're too famous to merely show me your picture, then I'm too poor/unknown/low-class to date you.

The reason I got was that all info out there in the media can be used to undermine their professionalism, or ridicule them by competitors or even colleagues...which I agree. Also the reason a lot of them are not on social sites like FB, Twitter, etc etc. But as long as they are able to show it offsite, it is reasonable enough. There are however, some who even continue to give you fictitious info and pics....and those are ones to beware of!

Hello. I know some people don't use their own face in the photos..sometimes its animals or flowers etc.

My belief would be that:

C: They are wanted by the law.

I am glad to be using Google Chrome for my web browser. It enables me to perform web searches for any profile image that I consider to be suspicious.

Well from my experience profiles with only one pic is usually a scammer from Nigeria or who knows where. They never completely fill out the profile forms and never take time to upload more than one pic. So beware and smart, Cheers

Mmmmmmm, some don't put up pics of themselves because of the kind of work they do.....posts they hold, etc, but genuine ones will mention it in their profiles!!! I made a friend on here who is a prominent architect.....!! But you see,I also, almost always wonder, why then do they join a dating site if you are going to hide??? surprised

Exactly my thoughts..
And also, there's not shame in being on a dating-site and being single, is there?
And .. if a colleague finds you on one, they were on a dating-site themselves and if that wasn't not for their own thing, they were checking you out. You can then ask why they feel like doing that.

I'd say anyone without a face for a profile picture has something to hide. It may be justified but that also means dealing with additional baggage and distrust you might not want to deal with.

I have had friendships with people without pictures but I'd never consider anything beyond that.

i can understand ladies doing this, because guys can be aholes a lot of the time, so i don't think it's anything they are hiding, just because they would rather not have to deal with the stupid people that fall in love/lust with a pic...

Why would I not use "this" face?

I think it so wonderfully exemplifies my humility!bigsmile
