The article you posted is vague...It's not clear about the particular poverty these prominent women are speaking out about...They are referring to world poverty and in that context they are right...Developing countries are just beginning to enter the fight for equality...They are women who can't own or inherit the land they farm, women who can't own phones or open bank accounts, access electricity or retain an attorney...They're talking about the female babies being born in villages who are not being registered at birth...Millions of girls and women AROUND THE WORLD live in poverty due to the extreme sexism that exists in their "developing" countries...

Your thread title and choice of the article used in your OP seems to be designed solely for the purpose of winding up male members...IMO that is as sexist as it gets...pitchfork

I get what you're saying about the OP trying to wind men up, I find her posts laughable but touched with a hint of sadness for the OP. What a way to live what is a short life anyway.

I don't think there is only poverty in the 'developing world' or that there is only economic sexism outside of the west. Capitalism mixed with patriarchy are spread out around many cultures and countries and it's sad that too many ignore it.

Again, to accuse me of being sexist is ridiculous.

Here is the 3rd person coming here to ignore my topic and ridicule or disparage someone who is merely trying to talk about issues that generally are ignored or supported anyway. Why don't you guys get a hobby, you seem miserable and it's unfortunate to have these responses dirtying my thread.
