I also have never met a good man who is right for me. Good yes I met one, but right for me, I've met none, or maybe I missed the right one.

I wonder why

i don't... i'm pretty sure i know why

appreciate the little man in training.
when I got home from the grocery store he came out to help carry things in. the last trip was a gallon of milk and a bag of heavy things. so I asked him to just close the gate and make sure the dog doesn't get out.
the little guy said here let me help you with that. you shouldn'thave to do the heavy stuff. and he llugged the milk up the stairs outside my house and all the way to the kitchen.

Estelle,
please refrain from your negativity on this thread. if you don't have anything positive to say just don't say anything at all

Seriously, do you even read anything I write anyway? It wasn't negative at all.

yeah.. it was.. as are your comments on men. You weave your personal experience with men into every possible crevice of every conversation.

This thread was about appreciating men... but you refused to let that happen.. for your own self serving needs.

news flash Estelle... we get it.. you hate men.. we know.. so knock it off already.. o.k.

Yes, there are some great traits that men have, generally speaking. The aforementioned is testimony to the kind & considerate things that a man can and will do. Sure, there can be some liabilities as well, but on the whole, most men will give the shirt off their back when opportunity arises.

Very good, memorable stories within this thread. I may also add that I've always admired a trait that many women have within them, and that would be the amount of long term pain & suffering that they seem to endure with very little complaint if any. Sure, there are men who develop this trait as well, although I seem to have noticed this outward demonstration of stoicism amongst females often.

May I end in saying that many a man will forget or ignore certain honorable deeds with time (ie: opening car doors, etc.), but all that is needed in this matter is someone to remind them. We've all heard the common phrase or thought that a man needs to be trained. The same might hold true in that a man would do well to remember these wonderful traits as relationships grow in time. A nice, vocal nudge at times may be all that is required to gain remembrance, forgetful as we are.

To all the wonderful men I have got to know here in Mingles! For the wonderful dads, grand-dads, big brothers or little brothers, husbands, boyfriends....!!! My own 3 brothers are the best yet..... they are wonderful fathers and husbands!

I may not have had a successful marriage and my ex has not been a responsible husband and father but I know not all men are like that.... I have friends who are wonderful husbands and fathers. And getting to know all you guys here have reinstated my faith in men. I have learn that what I am going thru now as a single mother, someone here is going thru as a single father too....even fighting for custody for their children. Women are natural multi-taskers but men have had to struggle to cope with the housework, the children and ensuring the kids are fed (even cook....drinker !) and continue with being the breadwinnder, and this is a feat in itself. Well done....your kids will forever know what you went thru for them!

I appreciate men too, they are nice to look at, good at fixing things with a hug or kind word or knowing how to fix a door or car
what would life be without them? And some are fabulous cooks too!

reasons to appreciate men. the security guards at my work do more than just guard.
I work for an agency that services broken families.
they help put our clients at ease.
one of them can tell when I'm getting a headache sometimes and offers to get me coffee.
they offer encouragement, like yesterday my receptionist partner got promoted and the guard said I know you'll be next on the list. I appreciate that they are just kind people

I learnt how to cook from being around women & also lived with them & learnt it from them.
I took it further & learnt more when i owned an Italian Restaurant

sorry I have a different opinion of the rest of you. since I was a child boys picked on me, bullied me and tried to beat me up after class. As I grew up Men did the same thing. I have never had a good man. All men have ever done, was bully, beat, lie, cheat and disrespect me. Never once did I receive any love from the opposite sex. I am trying to find my first love. Hope I get it sometime in my life.

How can you expect someone to love you or for you to love someone if you don't love yourself
