Yes, being nice works best. Sometimes you will be surprised by a response you aren't expecting. Actually, I think treating people with respect along with being nice about it works best. I will also include just because you're generally a nice person doesn't mean you have to take rudeness from anyone with a smile.

I think if you are nice, you will be nice whether it pays or not.

The nicest people are still nice even when they are being nasty to.... they just smile and say something nice in return. It is just them.

I am not exactly nice though, cos' I do bite back.....flowerforyou

In my opinion here,I would say that being nice can surely pay off good because one can get to know lots of peoples out there and have many friends and many wonderfull conversations

It pays.
Maybe not in personal gain, but in many ways that you may not see.
Be good to someone, they may pass it on. Maybe even return it.
Be nasty with someone, almost certainly, they will pass it on.
And most certainly return it.

I wish they had a like button on here to click when someone makes a post that you like and agree with rather than having to write out a whole new post stating why and how you liked it! Anybody else feel this way? Or is it just me?

Not sure it pays off. But I'm not letting this world change who I am.glasses

I agree with lone goat on this. I like being nice and at work I always try to help the tourists have a great vacation however there are people who take niceness for weakness and you need to temporarily put it aside but then jump right back into who you are.

Hell no.. Only to a blood relative in case someone needs a kidney... smokin

oops Sorry God, but I'm not seeing it. Most people interpret 'nice' as 'doormat' & when you stand your ground.. your then a 'b*tch"

^^^^^ exactly
