According to reports Friday, two cross-dressing men in a vehicle rammed the gate surrounding the National Security Agency headquarters in Maryland's Fort Meade. Fox News indicates a guard at the base began arguing with the two men at approximately 9:30 a.m. before witnesses reported hearing gunshots.

At this time, authorities believe the guard fired the shot, striking at least one of the men. The NSA released a statement indicating one of the suspects died and the other was injured in the incident.

The statement confirms the pair "attempted to drive a vehicle into the National Security Agency portion of the installation without authorization and that the agency's security team 'prevented them from gaining access to the installation.'"


A source cited by Fox News indicated the injured suspect was transported to a local hospital, noting there were reports of other injuries. An officer is believed to have sustained an injury to the arm, a claim supported by reports that a uniformed individual was wheeled away from the scene on a stretcher.

As for the possible motive behind the attack, authorities are not yet prepared to comment beyond suggesting that it was not terrorism related.

The White House confirmed Barack Obama has been briefed on the incident and, as spokesperson Eric Schultz explained, "will be updated as appropriate."

Friday's attack marked the second within the month on an NSA building. Hong Young, who admitted to firing shots at the building, told authorities he was following the commands of voices telling him to shoot at a vehicle at the scene.

When a car crashes into the gates of a government facility full of secret data leading to a fatal shooting, you'd expect that to be more than enough material for a crazy story.

Two people were injured and one person killed when an NSA officer fired at a car Monday morning as it accelerated toward a police vehicle outside the NSA's headquarters.

But there's more.

Not only were the two men one of whom is now deceased dressed as women, they were fleeing from another man.

That man had only just awoken in a hotel room to find his vehicle missing. The Washington Post reports that the drag-men, having left their friend in an exhausted heap after a mutual tryst, decided it would be a great idea to do like Selma and Louise in dude's Ford Escape.

They allegedly stole his car and tore down the highway. Authorities believe the men may have mistakenly taken the restricted NSA exit and and then rammed into a gate at the NSA. The FBI quickly denied any links to terrorism.

Reprimanded for hesitation in pulling the trigger.
