Geez.. the whole world is watching India & waiting to see how they handle crimes against women & children. Just like the USA is being watched to see how we handle illegal immigration, terrorism & many other things.
We all have faults. We can only hope to learn from them & each other.

1) Do not attack/slam/insult others. You can discuss the message or topic, but not the messenger - NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are attacked by another user, use the Report Post link within that post. If you reciprocate instead, YOU will also be subject to the same consequences as the attacker. Defending yourself, defending a friend, etc. are NOT excuses. Violations of this rule are taken very seriously and may result in being banned without warning!

Just saying. Would be a shame to have another topic locked because people make it personal attacks

Hi again,
How did we all get so emotional?
You see my the Original Topic is not new. In 1972, when Richard Nixon made his historical visit to China, Mr. Mao Tse Tsung suggested exporting some of the Chinese ladies to the USA. “They are extremely fertile” was the reason he gave.

Also consider the mail order business for Russian brides.
Appears there's slight shortage of men in Russia also.

Red represents women & blue, men

Now that a few new topics have been hatched
<a </a>
and it's becoming a contest when no contest was originally intended.

Again at some risk I would like to say that there's some misquoting going on. For instance statistically speaking there are always 10% in society who have some sort of anti-social behavior. In US perhaps there's a more powerful deterrent which is not quite easy to enforce in India. That doesn't mean 10% of Indians are criminals on the loose.what

Additionally, a member introduced a worn line on BPO jobs and Indians. If we are discussing this then we must also cover how the auto industry has finally gone under Japanese management and how the entire textile industry has gone to the hands of China.

Of course it makes economic sense not to grow cotton, as it is a highly nutrient demanding crop.

On similar scale the BPO jobs going to India is Corporate America's decision. The BPO worker has no influence except to provide a level of service to retain his job.

Its a hard earned reputation we Minglers have earned for our Rich and Balanced discussions. I personally am here for the forums. So unless somebody wants to discuss the gender ratio in Nordic countries I think we should listen to what Sassy has just stated and let it go. shades

Seems India has another "unique" custom.
It was reported in the media throughout the
1990s, that when some Indian men were done
with their Indian women...
The men would disfigure the women,
by throwing acid in their faces.

noway That is tears

For me this is another example why I don't like talking to Indian men; their English makes for an unpleasant read. They seem to think using chat language is totally trendy and hot, and maybe proof that they really master the language.
I find it annoying. Okay on a kiddy & teenage website, not in adult conversation.
Not a personal attack, just another reason why it isn't appealing to talk to Indian men, for me anyways.

I'm not seeing this as " learn about my culture, educational thread"

Shortage of men?
That is an attempt at reverse psychology.... " Bring me & other Indian men over, ... so you don't die alone "
It is an manipulation tactic.
I'm insulted, just reading it all.
Have a good day.

Apparently Sir, the other [Very Disturbing] reality is that India suffers from is a shockingly high Female Infanticide Ratenoway :
*
"In India the constraint is mostly economic. Daughters will require a sizable financial dowry in order to marry. Because daughters leave their families of origin, they are often regarded as temporary members of their families and a drain on its wealth. There is an expression in India that “bringing up a daughter is like watering a neighbor’s plant” (Anderson & Moore, 1993)."

There was a certain macho ism which is now way down.
And since you quoted Tagore you will understand how we feel about this:

New England Brewing Company, makers of a best-selling craft beer named "Gandhi-bot," has agreed to change the brew's name, a Connecticut state legislator told NBC News.

If something like this had happened to any other country, would have created an international incident, i think.

I have a vague conception of how Indians might feel about that image (but at least it's not as bad as depicting The Prophet Mohammed, right?). However, I don't see what that has to do with the treatment of women in Indian/Indian or Indian/other relationships.

You had a vague conception???
Founding father of India.
A person Martin Luther King based his movement on.
A person Nelson Mandela revered

How do I feel???
When a red neck crushes the empty can and tosses it out in the bin.

How would you feel, if. Hell this is getting to be an eye for an eye.
What Gandhi said, if we did that, the world would go blind.

No Sir, this is no longer the question about women in India.
This is altogether become something else.

I see Mingle has a forum exclusively for Indians, not for Chinese, Arabs, Germans or Mexicans. That may be because India has a larger English speaking population. Say 10% of our 1.2 billion, that's nearly one third of the entire USA population.

I also see profiles where the Mingle ladies vehemently declare: ‘we are not a ticket to the USA’. Now that to me sounded something like buyer’s remorse and therefore this post.

Maybe the ladies do not relish vegetarians and their curries. You see curries are made of spices and herbs. They also function as preservatives. It’s a traditional diet from the days before electricity and refrigerators. Now imagine having preservatives for b’fast, lunch and dinner. Something’s got to give.

Or maybe the ladies did not prefer a secondary role; roles of a housewife since Indians prefer their wives to sit at home and take care of the kids.

Or maybe, ha ha; the ladies prefer the Viking gods. After all a deer however swift is no match to the lions. That’s natural.

But on the plus side, American technology is powered by the cream of Indians from IIT and such class institutes. A small percentage of the healthcare professionals are Indians. Indian music, Ravi Shankar, Fusion; small businesses and so on. What I mean is, it’s a good bet that the Indian will stay long after the initial attraction has fizzled out of wedlock. He will pay the alimony if things don’t work out; its not in them to abandon their kids. And so on.

So ladies now that it’s out in the open; the question is why not? After all the US is facing a gender crisis with 51% of the American population being women.

frustrated It is a date site.
Women want men that live near them for real dates. And the more things they have in common... religion, politics, education, food... the better.
Besides.. women know what they like & who they are attracted too, just like men do.
People put things on their profile so they don't waste their time or anyone else's.

SassyEuro!

Unfortunately the photo you have captured was a candidate for the governors seat (chief minister) in one of our largest state. Among many things a champion for farmers rights. I still consider him as the Reagan of India.

The very fact that the original post was introduced under a 'Curry' title should have indicated to anybody that this was a Halloween trip.
What really is happening here?

Think you'll find it was an Indian guy who started the hatred speeches, with the very first post? I'm a Brit, but I can see the OP doesn't like the US very much?
