Please, please, please.

Long time ago I met this girl whose natural timbre was that cutesy, sexy, "baby doll" voice women use when they want you do something you don't want to do but know you are powerless to resist.

Three days later I was pulling my hair out, thinking:

"MY GOD! SHE REALLY TALKS LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME!

It is sexy and cute for a few minutes, but all day every day?

I'd rather check in to the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp and get the full torture package!

I had to nip this budding relationship in the....uh...bud slaphead

The only thing more unnerving is a woman I find attractive until she opens her mouth and sounds like a foghorn or one of Marge Simpson's sisters. surprised

What if she alternated from Selma by day into " babydoll" by night..tongue2

I still put in mind that his voice is lovely as the tweet tweet of the bird. What the most important is who he is.glasses

I agree...but of course...if someone articulates better with you reading than hearing...lol...

It's like being distracted with obvious mistakes in grammar, punctuations, and spellings.....

Hahaha but at least i could speak in a sweet lovely voice.

After online chatting and emailing for sometime, you become interested enough to make/receive the call...then you hear their voice...the accent..the tone...
What happens if you didn't like it? what

Less communication until it dwindled down to a silence.

Being English people sometimes expect me to sound like Hugh Grant.
Thankfully I don't, I hope anyway.

Oh Sweetheart, may I tell the story about our first phone call?
Please, please, please.

OH GAWD this is something we will laugh about til the day we die...laugh

I have a very pronounced drawl,we had moved to the phone stage.. So I figure I will make the call and he can get my number from cell would save time instead of sending my number back..Thinking in the back of my mind how my drawl puts some people a bit off...

Well Pancho answers the phone and I hear this deep sexy canadian voice say hello... I am thinking yum...

I say hey Pancho... this is Rains..
dead silence.. I mean dead silence to the point I am thinking dang did I drop the call...

Then I hear this timid voice Hallo????

I am like Yes this is Rains...

He is definitely not what I thought after about 2 minutes of strained conversation I can tell this man wants off the phone.

I am thinking WTH.. he wanted me to call and what is his problem.
I honestly didn't think we were going to go any farther.

Hesitantly I hear " boy you don't sound like I thought you would"..

I am like whatever.. the dude doesnt' like drawls okay fine what ever...
That call ended rather quickly...

Then a few days later we try this again...
As we are chatting Mr. Pancho blurts out
Oh lordy I am so glad you dont' sound like you did the first time...
He goes onto to tell me "you had me scared the first time around..

It took me a moment the Man thought I was a drag queen in the beginning.I laughed so hard I was crying laugh

I had had a bad cold... My voice was really deep and well gravelly...
I was breathing heavily and to make matters even worse where I had to make the call was outside on one spot of my deck the only cell coverage. So on top of being sick as a dog, I was freezing the damn rooster from a neighbor was crowing his head off.. That is why I use my Landline at home.

So yeah... we laugh about this today... my poor guy thought he had been duped by a southern drag queen...laugh

Nope just little ole me with a horrible chest cold...

Voices do mean alot to me I love to hear the inflections of someone...
The richness their laughter, the sighs, all of it is important to me.

I hadn't thought about it that often until I talked to a few men that just didn't have a voice that felt good on my ears.

My hearing was my primary connection for many years so it was a surprise more than once when I actually saw some of the people I had only heard for years. It is really funny sometimes listening to Dragon Speaks for some people on the computer.

It was a Biiiiiig shock coming from the South to the Northwest coast. I felt like people here were speaking on hyper speed for a long time.

It is pretty offensive when someone is more focused on the sound of your voice/accent than what you are saying and who you are. But admit a good sexy masculine voice can up a mans over all score. Just as someone who speaks with well used vocabulary and manners.

I loose interest with people who mumble, interrupt, or have to let too much profanity slip in. Or shout. Men who seem to think bellaring or barking (orders) of what they say is masculine mystify me and not in a good way.

A real pet peeve has always been having a smoker overlay his speech with a cig or a pipe. Or people who talk with food or fingers in their mouth. Yikes nail biters. Or men who chew tobacco and spit; sooooh gross.

You catch on real quick when someone is just looking for the what shall I call it the "porno voice". Some on the net are so obviously panting on the leash to get you on the phone or sexting it is a HUGE "next" incentive.
