Of all the things women have been accused of & even lied about through out time - virginity, age, weight... what the h@ll do you this!?
And at the same time, look at how many people say, ' we have a black president "
* Mr 33%, I don't so*

IF this head of the NAACP was NOT in a position of power. IF the President was NOT in a position of power... I wouldn't give a sh@t . I may even find it comical & call them ' wantabees'.

By a lie is a lie. And when you are in a position of power, you have to be forthcoming about your DNA as well as marital status & everything else.
If not ,then except the consequences.
A public life or a powerful one is for everyone to see. No privacy & no lies.

CNN had at least 4 articles on this by 6:00am. I don't think people are okay with it at all.
But at some point, i'm sure the media will try to put a spin on it or justify it, or come up with a psychological 'identity' term = lying is cool (now).
" *Like so much other crap in the news*

Authorities in Spokane, Washington, are investigating whether the president of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP misrepresented her race when applying for the city's Office of Police Ombudsman Commission.

Montana residents Ruthanne and Lawrence Dolezal told KXLY that they are Rachel Dolezal's biological parents, and that they are both white. The two are listed as Dolezal's parents on her birth certificate, ABC affiliate KXLY reported.

For years, Dolezal, 37, has identified herself publicly as African-American -- but the city is investigating whether Dolezal misidentified her race on a city form when applying for a spot on the Police Ombudsman Commission, on which she is now chairwoman. On the city application form, Dolezal identified herself as white, black and American Indian,KXLY reported.

'We are committed to independent citizen oversight and take very seriously the concerns raised regarding the chair of the independent citizen police ombudsman commission,' Mayor David Condon and City Council President Ben Stuckart said in a statement issued Thursday. 'We are gathering facts to determine if any city policies related to volunteer boards and commissions have been violated. That information will be reviewed by the City Council, which has oversight of city boards and commissions.'

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP, is open to people of all races, and the organization said Dolezal's racial identity is not an issue for the group.

"One's racial identity is not a qualifying criteria or disqualifying standard for NAACP leadership," the NAACP said in a statement. "The NAACP Alaska-Oregon-Washington State Conference stands behind Ms. Dolezal’s advocacy record."

KXLY reporter Jeff Humphrey asked Dolezal about her lineage in an on-camera interview Wednesday, showing a photo that had circulated on social media earlier this year showing Dolezal and an African-American man who had been identified as her father.

'I was wondering if your dad really is an African-American man,' Humphrey said.

"That's a very. ... I don't know what you're implying," Dolezal responded.

'Are you African-American?' Humphrey asked.

"I don't understand the question of-- I did tell you that yes, that's my dad. And he was unable to come [for a meeting] in January," Dolezal said.

Before answering any further questions Dolezal stormed away.

ABC News' efforts to reach Dolezal this morning were unsuccessful.

Dolezal has said she has an extensive background in civil rights efforts. According to her biography on the website for Eastern Washington University, where she is an adjunct professor in the Africana Studies program, Dolezal received her master's degree from Howard University and previously worked at the Human Rights Education Institute in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

"I think we all need more awareness. I want to enhance my own awareness of things," she said in a 2009 interview with the Coeur d'Alene Press. "I'm kind of on a mission to educate myself and being involved in educating others forces you to continue to educate yourself."

As news reports regarding the city's investigation began to emerge Thursday, Dolezal stripped most of the images from her Facebook page.

I suppose having this position {prestige} not only boosts one's resume substantially and her annual salary would be impressive {I looked but couldn't find that info}; but she's been in this position or over a year...why is this becoming an issue now?

Anyone know - and why would her parents remain silent back then if they're coming out to throw her under that media bus now?

ODD, just really odd - IMHO

From what I read, her parents have their own, biological white children & have adopted daughters that are (some percentage) of black. And this woman now claims she ' identifies with my black sisters '. Hhhaaaa.. Well,I identity with all my siblings also, but I don't claim to be them or portray myself with 'their' identity.

As far as the parents- I don't believe they threw her under the bus. I think it took over 12 months ( while she was employeed), for someone to figure it out& find proof of her Eastern European heritage & confronted her parents with it. IF her parents would of denied it... they would be denying their own heritage & identify., & be living a LIE like their daughter. * They have their own life, long before she got a job *
However they handled it, I applaud them.

1355 comments on the link from CBS; and those comments range from 'Transgender' to 'Trans Racial'...all over the place. noway

But some of them have some solid DNA points! How much 'BLACK DNA' does it take in one's blood line to be Politically Correct to claim 'BLACK RACE' on applications or other census forms that we are asked to fill out!think

'throwing her under the media bus' --- scratching my head about that; seems that there's other issues brewing under the suffice in the matter. Wouldn't your parents 'not want to go on camera' until they'd had a 'Come To Jesus Meeting' with their own daughter?
From my 'LINK'; there was a FB photo of a man she was claiming to be 'MY FATHER' - the site photo's have been removed.

Well the human race is said to have evolved out of Africa/Middle East, so I guess in a sense we're all a little bit of everything.

I'm assuming she played the race card on her job application to score a couple more points as a 'minority' candidate. She's a white chick from Nebraska!(lol)

She went for the nappy do', some slightly dark foundation, and she can 'pass' as a mulatto. For some people, wanting to appropriate black behavior is a socializing mechanism, like the only white guy in the hood for example. For others it's a fashion statement. They like the clothes, the 'vibe', the attitude. The Jamaican/Bob Marley/weed thing for example.

Personally I always make a point of laughing in the face of white people who try too hard to 'be' black. White surfer dudes with dreadlocks for example.

Don't misunderstand the point. Yeah I have black friends, I've dated black women, I've had my hair beaded, BUT I can't live as a black man. At BEST, I can play at it. I lived in a rooming house for about a year where we smoked a LOT of weed, had Bob Marley on 24/7, discussed in detail the Rastafarian lifestyle, and even had my kitchen table broken by a particularly intense game of dominoes!(lol) I've drunk my share of Red Stripe, rum, eaten roti by the ton, meat patties, and dirty rice and peas. Aki fish, plantain, and goat. However THAT doesn't make me a black man. It just means I enjoy the food, booze, and the company. This woman actually says she's black by declaring it on government forms. I'd be curious to see outside of the NAACP offices how she lives. That might give us a little more insight into how sincere her 'beliefs' are.

I think its sad when people try to be who they arent

but I also find it sad when people assume to know who someone else is or isnt

People can adopt many things from different cultures and still be every bit themself

their race is no indicator of how they should act or not act
perhaps only of the 'support' they give to issues within that racial demographic

Well if this does become an issue anyone want to take bets that suddenly in the family tree there will be Black lineage...
I personally don't care what nationality she is or isn't.
My main concern is, is she doing her job for what she has been hired for satisfactory.

Since this story broke, something about it was a thorn in my claw. It reminds me of a political scandal.
She is in her mid 30's & consciously lied in real life & on legal documents.
* She shout be fired, like anyone else or charged * I believe she has done this intentionally. I believe there is an agenda. That somehow she (& who whom ever, see this as a ',win win' situation.
We have been 'prepared for & indoctrinated' with gay is normal, gay marriage, gender fluidity... now what ? Racial Identity ? And what next? Some powerful person saying 'I identity with a sheep , there for I am one & meet my wife her name is Bbaaahh "

oops Break out the NWO Uniforms.

NO Sex, No Race, No Religion, No Guns, No personal freedom, No personal identify, No Culture, No parenting, No Countries, No personal thought. oops
