This is one of those things that I've noticed over the years that I have been doing the online dating thing. I'm sure that women have also seen this with men.

You finally come across someone's profile that makes you want to write. You take the time to write this person. And for whatever reason they ignore your message. You never hear a peep out of them. But now that isn't the problem. After ignoring your message, for whatever reason, they keep coming back to your profile. Over and over again. Once, I'm not going to think anything about it. Twice, No big deal. Just a blip on the radar. Third time, I really notice it. The fourth, I'm starting to wonder why. Fifth, You stalking me and I'm getting all kinds of weirded out.

Why do you think people do this? Why not just answer the message to start with? If not, Why come back over and over again?

I usually go back to their profile for one of the following reasons:

1) I made a mistake

2) I almost never remember the user names, so, when I bump into their messages I have to go back to their profile to refresh my memory

3) I am not sure whether I should reply to their message or not. So, I go back to their profile to try to make up my mind..

I don't see anything weird about it.laugh don't get all paranoid!

It is sometimes and accident and sometimes it is just to remember someone to post in there thread.

But I have been known to admire from afar. I know one fella that is the case for a very long time.

I figure it has to be a mutual interest and I am old fashioned enough I like for the guy to make the first move.

Kind of the old fashioned drop the handkerchief flirt. Some guys get it some guys don't . tears frustrated

I'm talking about coming back to someone's profile multiple times. Like, 6, 10 times or more. If you were not interested in answering their message, why come back so many times? I can understand it once or twice and not think anything about it. But 6 to 10 times or more. Isn't that a little odd?

if my profile gets viewed I don't give it much thought or bother about it, it doesn't make a difference to me drinks

Why do you think people do this?

Maybe they use the phone app and can't see your picture clearly so keep thinking you're someone new emailing them and click on your picture.
Or maybe their finger slips, slides, or registers by accident on the phone screen.

Maybe they aren't here to date, they just want to see who is interested in them and go back to profiles to see if they'll keep writing or to remind themselves that someone wrote them.

Maybe you write a message that doesn't really elicit a response. Like "hi!" or something and they keep coming back to see if you are a spammer that should be reported.

Maybe they are comparing your profile to another.

Maybe they've come back to your profile over several months or years since you say you've been doing this for years.

Maybe they click on your picture by mistake when signing in.

Maybe they liked your picture, but didn't like your profile, or vice versa, and they're on the fence about writing you back, going back and forth until they finally make a decision.

Maybe they go to click to reread your message but click on your picture instead, taking them to your profile.

Maybe they do a search, and your profile comes up as one of the first ones and they think "I think I've seen that guy somewhere before," and click on your profile to remind themselves.

Maybe they are exploring the different features on profiles or just using your picture to click on in order to back up to refresh her page.

Maybe they click on yours in order to get the row of users that appear above your profile.
I know on some sites I would do this to play a game I called boobs across america, where I would click on cleavage shots to see how far away from my home city I could get by just clicking boob pics.
I've gotten from AZ to CA and CO (on another site) by clicking "users within 50 miles" of the profile I am viewing.
Sometimes I'd start from my "viewed me" section.

Could be all sorts of reasons.

Why not just answer the message to start with?

Because there is nothing to say they are clicking on your profile multiple times to specifically look at you, yours could just be a jumping off point for something else.

Why come back over and over again?

IMO it doesn't really matter.
I really believe the viewed me feature should be done away with.
It causes more stress than anything.
The only thing that matters is your inbox.
If you get a mail, great, if not move on and keep trying to find someone that will put something in your inbox.

Well I think its weird that a person agree's to exchange photo's by email and you send yours and then none sent by them then you notice they have blocked you. I think thats more of a stalker. I mean I am attractive and look younger for my age. I think thats creepy that he knows what I look like now and he is invisible.

I have this one profile that checks out my profile several times a day..So one day I decided to send..

Hi, I noticed you perve my profile about every 30 minutes or so.. Nothing has changed in the last two weeks... So hi I don't bite ..well hard that is..

Got nothing back and it is still perving away.. I have been on now for about 2 hours and it has perved me 5x... Weird duck..but hey if that is what trips his trigger go for it..

I actually kind of wished the stealth mode was still here.. Or not have the who looked at you feature.. I understand why it is here... Just a bit annoying is all.

Real life stalker had one thank you no thanks not ever again. Turned my life into a living hell...

Sometimes I go back because I forget what was written there.

It could be because they are completely overcome by the awesome handsomeness or beauty of your photo, and in consequence they are infatuated and lost for words. I guess you could always try asking them why it is.

I feel so left out. No one ever "pervs" me more than once. That, or the website works differently on different browsers.

Frankly, I've become so used to dating sites having weird quirks, I don't pay any attention to, or try to imagine any meaning behind anything like this.
