I agree Effincrzy.

It's the corporate
power brokers that
want to keep the fear
alive in the population
and appeal to their
sense of patriotism.

They are afraid of
losing their power,
which is why they
are giving a lot
of money to Hillary
these days because
they know the Republican
Presidential candidates
are toast in this election.

And once Hillary gets elected,
she'll do what her corporate
handlers tell her to do,
just like **** Cheney.

Just like the song says:

'Meet the new boss.
Same as the old boss.' noway

So much excitement over a couple hundred people in GITMO. But 3 million girls going through FGM a year? That's just peachy keen!

God, Give it a rest, already...We have enough problems here that no one seems to be solving...

Once we have taken care of "Our Own" we can help others..But, first we have to Take Care Of Our Own!!!

Take the pulpit where it belongs..and be sure to spread the word that: In the eyes of God (Allah, or whatever the flavour of the month is...All Beings Are Equal!!

Actually; it is that simple..There those here who wish only good things for others..Then, there those who don't..

Simply look at the positives and ignore the negatives..Praise the Lord!!

Spider: "So much excitement over a couple hundred people in GITMO. But 3 million girls going through FGM a year? That's just peachy keen!"

No, female genital mutilation is not "peachy keen with me". I find it another kind of torture... most likely the most severe torture possible and one that has lifelong physical, mental and emotional consequences for those victims who survive.

But one injustice does not justify another does it? Just because one child is raped and beaten doesn't make it ok that another child is "just beaten"

What's your point? It's only ok to care about the absolute *worst* human behavior?

I think we should care about all atrocities and human rights violations... and I think the tolerence of "lesser" offenses such as those that occur/occurred at Gitmo and Abu Grab only encourages other realatively "greater" offenses such as FGM.

You either have human rights or you don't.

"What's your point? It's only ok to care about the absolute *worst* human behavior? "

How about a little even handedness? How about as much outrage that FGM happens and is legal in many countrys as we got over Micheal Vick? Nobody is even physically hurt by not allowing homosexual scout leaders, but so many get worked up about that. 3 million little girls tortured and mutilated a year should elict a but more emotion, shouldn't it? People posted that Micheal Vick should go to hell, but how many people posting anything about ending FGM? Oh NO! Moral Relativism kicks in and people have to talk about Christianity and America, neither of which touched anything done in that video even at their lowest points.
