I'm not sure

I think you can see someone and have a chat and think, 'wow, she's really nice' but love, I think it takes a little more, although that first glance can set you on the road to bliss.

It can happen. I know a couple that married on the second date.
Lasted over 35 years. When he died. She died about a year later. They had a wonderful life together.

there is no such thing as love at first sight, but lust at first sight there is.

When I was younger my answer would have been yes, but now that I have traveled a few roads I would say no. I can become very interested in someone but love for me takes a little time.

My answer is "yes, in a way there is, just not in the magic version that you find in movies."

Plenty of people do find they are instantly interested in, drawn to, attracted to, intrigued by, or desirous of another person from the moment they first see them.

The results from this can go in all the logical ways you can work out, from the person with the "crush" choosing to ignore it and go on without ever even talking to the other person; to chasing after them and being rapidly disappointed; to chasing after them and having a good time for a while before losing interest; to chasing after them until the police restrain them.

When things chance to work out well for a long time, people call that "love at first sight," and that's effectively okay. Things only REALLY go bad, if the person who thinks they are in love, imagines that love is an independent magical force in the world, that makes things happen against the will of the individuals.

I have my doubts if i take 'love at first sight' literally. Without any conversation it's purely physical,so more like 'lust at first sight'.
Then we have the 'something about' factor, where you feel you have to get to know someone. That works much better, especially if it's mutual. So i don't think there is love at first sight, just a powerful attraction. And if you are very lucky, love will follow quickly

It can happen and its not lust. Its recognition, immidiate trust. As if two souls know each other. And you dont even have to talk to understand the other one. You just simply know.

no, love is patient. At first sight you haven't yet had an opportunity to demonstrate your patience

Every man I loved, I knew when I first saw him that he was special. I rarely like anyone so the chosen few were love at first sight and I believe in it. My heart always knows who the special ones are right away. A lot of people are not as deeply attuned to their emotions so they do not recognize love at first sight.

yes, love is patient, love is kind.....absolutely.
a different way to look at it. good point.

Love at first sight equals to patience when we are already talking about a relationship.

I think there can be a strong attraction, I think love needs needs to be demonstrated, especially in hard times.

(((Lu))) flowers

I used to think that it doesnt exist either and that it is only attraction - until it happened (never before, never after). And I didnt even give a thought at that moment whether he s attractive or not - it just didnt matter, I just knew what is he like inside. But we actually really were introduced several months later. After another several months he told me (although I never said a word about it) that it was love at first sight - for him too.
Relationship just approved that the first impression was entirely true.

Hmmm...i suppose once you've decided that you love someone...first sight or not, youll decide to demonstrate it through the hard times as well...its up to the other person whether to acknowledge and reciprocate it or not...
