Republicans in Maine are celebrating an epic victory with their successful welfare reformation and Democrats are not happy about it. This is incredible.


Governor Paul LePage of Maine passed a measure last year that requires recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program to complete a certain number of work, job-training, or volunteer hours in order to be eligible for assistance. The new requirement has resulted in a dramatic decline in food stamp enrollment, resulting in a logical win-win for all of Maine.

At the end of 2014 the enrollment count for SNAP was approximately 12,000 individuals. Now that individuals have to complete either 20 hours of part-time work a week, volunteer for at least 24 hours per month, or get involved in a vocational program, the amount of SNAP recipients has dramatically dropped from 12,000 to approximately 2,500 by the end of March…Impressive, right?


Instead of just giving welfare applicants an easy way out, Maine is forcing people to explore every opportunity for employment before allowing capable adults to take advantage of the system and the people of Maine. Of course Democrats are insisting that the program targets those in poverty or rural areas but their argument is invalid. The individuals benefitting from the new food-stamp law are the ones who really need the assistance and aren’t just lazy parasites to society who suck the vitality out of American taxes.


This is a huge victory for the Republicans of Maine and of course the sore loser Democrats are trying to tarnish the reformation’s success. Democrats are urging for special measures to ease back on some of the new requirements because they are too strict. However, their response is ill-fated because even if the requirements loosen up, once someone is removed from Maine’s food stamp program, it will be another three years before they can receive benefits again from the program.

Congratulations Maine Republicans! Now we just need other states to follow the trail you have blazed so that we can utilize the leeches of society in a beneficial way to the community and actually assist those in need. Share this article to celebrate this Republican victory!

30 people arrested for Food stamp fraud, guess how many were black

It’s a common stereotype that food stamp recipients, and those who abuse it, are black, Hispanic, or any other race but white. According to the USDA in their report for fiscal year 2013, 40% of recipients are white and 26% are black.

While the media and America’s culture will have you believe that black people (or anyone who isn’t white) account for copious amounts of fraud, there’s a story breaking that you won’t hear on Fox “News” anytime soon (or you might, because any chance to crush the SNAP program, they will take).

According to WCAX News in New York:

Investigators say over the past couple month’s people used their food stamps to get food or alcohol at the Old Time Butcher Block store in Brushton.

Police also say it’s not the first time the owner of that store, Dennis Sauve, has been charged with allowing such fraud.

Police say more arrests are expected.

Now here’s the kicker: they’re all white. Brushton, New York, where this bust happened, has a population of roughly 480 people. Approximately 99.83% of the population is white, and 0.42% are black. These demographics are eerily similar to the food stamp capital of the country, Owsley Country, Kentucky, which is 99.22% white and 95% Republican. Maybe we should investigate them.

I just wish we could get the political affiliations of those arrested in Brushton.


Police say the arrests are the result of a year-long investigation, initiated by the Franklin County Department of Social Services Fraud Unit. Franklin County District Attorney’s Office, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance helped with the investigation.

The store owner, Denis Sauve (also white), has been charged with third-degree grand larceny and misuse of food stamps.

This really isn’t a racial issue so much as it is an, “I told you so,” issue. While the food stamp program has one of the lowest rates of abuse than any other welfare program, a lot of people buy into this misconception that it is the “lazy blacks” who account for all the fraud and woes of government assistance. Well, here we are, a major food stamp “bust” and every criminal involved is white.

It might be time to rethink today’ stereotypes.

Your math is badly distorted. Of course any abuser in a nearly all white city is going to be white. If you want to compare statistics, compare the ratio of abusers to their percentage of the population, not a specific area. With whites being about 72% and blacks being about 13% of the population, it is easy to see if the percentages of welfare recipients are above or below their percentage of the population. Compare the above numbers to your "40%" and "26%" and see what you get.

rule is you have to work I think at least 20 hours a week to qualify for any assistance

we have similar rules except for those with children who cant leave them alone (not school aged) and for other groups that had situation where they couldn't work

I worked 100 hours a month (25) per week, to get 315 dollars(this was tanf, not food stamps, tanf is a monetary assistance , an actual check)

That's 1 case including Fraud larceny and improper use of foodstamps, which would involve a judge (not free) a bailiff (not free) a prosecutor(not free) possibly a representative from the issuing office (not free) and likely since I'm sure this man will be losing his business altogether a public defender( not free).

Again you have mistaken criminal for liberal, with all the al's and all. This is going to cost the State of New York some money (thus indicating that none of the above was free). What will also be not free is further studies of corner stores that have food as well as alcohol that accept foodstamps as payment. I believe this description fits quite a few establishments that will become much less stable pending revocation of the privilege to accept foodstamps, or be eradicated totally when criminal charges are filed against those owners (not free such as above but not limited to charges against the mentioned store owner). Once the conservative approved action above starts taking out corner stores and bodegas in New York many communities will find only churches and liquor stores which both sadly do not accept foodstamps. Great idea.

That's what you said to do. There might be little gaping hole in your distortion.
If there were a correlation in the numbers you suggested to compare, given the assumption those values were assigned to the right factor, this would mean that 180% of whites receiving foodstamps violate them only 50% of blacks receiving them do. In otherwords for every white recipient 1.8 white recipients are violaters.
You failed to assign the values correctly. Out of ALL RECIPIENTS, 40% are white and 26% are black.

There is no mention of how many of the recipients of the respective races are violating their assistance or I believe they would be receiving all their living expenses as inmates and no longer be listed as recipients.

Liberals! Beating a dead horse!

Most who actually care about feeding their children would welcome the program participation that assists them in finding the work needed to qualify for the programs rather than biotch about having to get off their a$$e$ and actually participate in them to benefit from them.

There are "hardship" clauses in most of these programs for disabilities, parents of small children needing daycare, transportation, job training, tools and clothing, and any number of other "hand up" programs that are what the program is actually funded and created for if it is dispersed and managed properly.

I never worried about what percentage of black or white abused the program. What I complain about is bad management of the taxpayer money funding it, lax policies and enforcement, and what created the need in the first place!

Under liberal socialist programs and leadership (socialism/fascism/corporatism) technology and anything beneficial to the people will be withheld from the people until the corporations can figure out how to regulate, tax, and profit from it. That is why society always declines under liberal leadership!

Dragging the rest of the population down to a level rather than innovating and inspiring people to perform thru competition and setting higher standards for themselves is what fascism feeds on.

Govt will always, and ONLY, create need! That is why our fore-fathers limited their power over the people.
