Rosie O'Donnell's missing teenage daughter has been found safe and is in police custody, the comedienne tweeted Tuesday night.

Earlier in the day, O'Donnell released a statement saying her 17-year-old daughter, Chelsea, had not been seen since Aug. 11 and appealed for the public's support in finding her.

"Chelsea has been found and is safe in police custody - thank u all for the help and light #missingchildren," O'Donnell tweeted Tuesday night.

No other details were immediately available.

Earlier Tuesday, O'Donnell wrote on her website, "Nyack, New York police authorities have been looking for [Chelsea] in the Rockland County area since Sunday, August 16...She left home with her 6 month old therapy dog named Bear."

She continued, "She was wearing a black sweatshirt hoodie, dark ripped blue jeans, women’s grey converse sneakers and a black backpack. Chelsea has a large tattoo on her right side of a dream catcher with the word ‘Breathe.'"

O'Donnell also wrote that the 17-year-old "stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention." O'Donnell's publicist said in a statement, "Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness. It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family and they just want her back safe."

O'Donnell adopted Chelsea with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter. In March, a woman claiming to be Chelsea's biological mother told the National Enquirer that she was coerced into putting her daughter up for adoption.

The woman claimed her then-husband and biological father of the child forced her into putting up the girl for adoption and that she was in "no condition to sign away my parental rights" due to her drug use.

O'Donnell's publicist fought back saying the adoption was done completely by the books and that O'Donnell has even "encouraged and supported Chelsea's desire to communicate with her birth mother." She added it is "disappointing that Chelsea's birth mother would go public with this personal story without ever having met Rosie."

Ignorance? You realize I wasn't talking about her parents being Lesbians right? I was talking about the BS Rosie has put her and her other kids through over the years. Bouncing from relationship to relationship, having her public meltdowns on TV and the Internet with her kids there because she was picked on by her co hosts of The View, Rosie trying to hide the fact of the real birthmother and trying to keep her from her, the unwanted fame.

Anyone who automatically thought my comment was homophobic should really look in the mirror.

So her "mentally ill" daughter was missing for 4-5 days before she went to the police, and a week before she starts appealing for help in finding her?

Did the kid leave some kind of note like "I'm taking my therapy dog and therapizing at Julies house for a couple days kindamom?"

Chelsea's biological mother told the National Enquirer...

There's a bastion of credible reporting lending authority to a fox news story.

Exactly how long have you personally been dealing directly with raising an adopted mentally ill child yourself, that you can make such an insightful analysis of the lives of several people who you know only via occasional media reports from biased sources?

Fresh from the scandals of her controversial exit from television’s The View and the sudden demise of her second marriage, Rosie O’Donnell has been plunged into an adoption scandal!

The biological mother of O’Donnell’s 17-year-old adopted daughter, Chelsea, has unmasked herself to the world to sensationally claim she was drugged up by her then-husband on heroin and forced to give up their child.

“I believe Rosie O’Donnell knew that I was in no condition to sign away my parental rights to my daughter!” Deanna Micoley, 37, told The National ENQUIRER in a blockbuster exclusive interview. “She did the worst thing one woman can do to another woman — take her child!”

Micoley was unhappily married and just 20 years old when, in Aug. 1997, she gave birth to a baby girl who she named Kayla. Two months later, her now ex-husband forced her to give up their child to an adoption agency, it’s alleged.

“I may not have been the best mother back then. I did drugs and I have a criminal record because of it,” Micoley admitted.

“But I surely didn’t deserve to have my baby stolen from me!”

Micoley said she never knew 53-year-old O’Donnell had adopted her daughter until last November when Kayla — now known as Chelsea — contacted her biological maternal grandfather.

“Chelsea told him that she was his granddaughter. He called me and broke the news. It was the moment I’d been waiting and praying for the last 17 years – I’d found my precious daughter!”
Since then, Micoley and Chelsea have communicated through Facebook and text messages, during which her daughter revealed to her birth mom that she despises bombastic O’Donnell!

“Chelsea has told me that she had issues with Rosie,” Micoley said. “I believe Rosie has abandoned her. Since about the age of 12, Rosie’s basically shipped Chelsea off to different boarding schools.”

When Chelsea quizzed her biological mom as to why she’d been placed for adoption, Micoley said: “I told her the truth — that her daddy wasn’t a good person and she was basically given up to an adoption agency.”

“Rosie O’Donnell stole my baby, but I don’t want her money. I just want my daughter back!” added Micoley.

According to Micoley, O’Donnell has also tried to turn her own child against her — something she claimed is supported via a series of explosive text messages.

Rosie: I want to use period blood to write 'you're all a--'

TOBIAS SALINGER
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS 08/16/2015

Rosie O'Donnell, shown at a February ceremony and reception at Barnard College, called in to a radio program Wednesday to discuss what she called the "war on women.

Rosie O'Donnell, shown at a February ceremony and reception at Barnard College, called in to a radio program Wednesday to discuss what she called the "war on women."
Rosie O’Donnell wants to strike back against the “war on women” using her own bodily fluids, she said.

“I’d like to take my period blood that I no longer have and write, ‘You’re all a-------,” she said in a radio appearance Wednesday. “I’d like to smear it all over some people’s faces, OK?”

O’Donnell grouped Donald Trump’s comments about Fox News’ Megyn Kelly with the reaction to a marathoner’s decision to run without a tampon during a call-in to Sirius XM’s “Just Jenny” show.

The former “View” host scolded host Jenny Hutt and another guest for talking about musician Kiran Gandhi’s London Marathon run without being “empowering” to women.

“There is a war on women in this country starting with basic abortion rights, freedom to choose that we fought for in the ’60s and ’70s, that women died for, bleeding in back alleys from hanger abortions,” O’Donnell said. “Women fought for equality in this country and right now, politically, it’s being taken away from us.”

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump bashed O'Donnell during the party's first primary debate earlier this month. The former 'View' host linked his comments about debate moderator Megyn Kelly with the reaction to a musician who raced on her period with out a tampon.
O’Donnell’s name came up during the Republican presidential debate earlier this month. Kelly asked Trump about times he has called women “fat pigs”, “dogs”, “slobs” and “disgusting animals.” But Trump interrupted to say “only Rosie O’Donnell” had received such insults from him.

The Republican frontrunner later said Kelly had “blood coming out of her wherever” when she questioned him. After an instant outrage, Trump said the comment referred to Kelly’s nose rather than the menstrual cycle.

Gandhi completed her marathon run in April, months before Trump started his campaign. Yet the drummer recently wrote a Medium essay about running the race on the first day of her period “to draw light to my sisters who don’t have access to tampons and, despite cramping and pain, hide it away like it doesn’t exist.”

O’Donnell accused Hutt and guest Jenny Johnson of buying into male stereotypes about periods when they called Gandhi’s run gross.

“Why do you think she did that?” O’Donnell asked. “When Fox anchors are being accused of being hormonal and shamed because they have their period, then that woman does that. Why do you think she did that? You don’t think she did that to say ‘F--- you, *******!’?”

The conversation ended with the three women agreeing that a stigma about menstruation still exists.

“I’m in my 50s, you’re in your 40s - let’s hope that, by the time we get to the 30s, women aren’t afraid just to talk about it anymore,” O’Donnell said.

Okay, i guessed wrong as to why the OP made such extreme negative assumptions about this situation. Having had to deal with mental illness every bit as close as the OP, I know better than most, how mental illness does not follow such logic as the OP described.

If the erroneous negativity directed at a relative stranger (O'Donnell) isn't based on prejudices about either mental illness or sexual orientation, what is it based on?

It still remains that the criticisms leveled are based on ASSUMPTIONS. Not the kind of direct observation required for them to have any validity at all.

I don't think some people quite comprehend what a forum/message board is...

message board:

a website or section of a website that is used for public discussion of a specific topic and on which users can submit or read messages

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/message%20board

It doesn't say can submit messages that are only approved by the fascist self- indulgent /self-appointed moderator

It is based on how the celebrity status screws up kids. If they already have problems it just makes it worse AND it couldn't have helped that when Rosie threw her crying temper tantrums (because that baaaaddddd Elisabeth was picking on her) on TV and the internet with her kids in the video, well that couldn't have helped matters.

Plus if you follow the internet rumors Rosie isn't the greatest parent in the world, but that is just speculation.
