are there different dimensions as some claim?
is the soul for real?
what was god doing before he created the universe (if at all he/she's the one who created?)

why are we here?

The bus is late.

why is there something rather than nothing?

There is nothing.
But nothing exists unless there is something to notice that nothing exists.
If there is nothing, then that's something...it's nothing.

does the universe have a boundary?

Yeah.
"Just friends" while it talks about how it screws a whole bunch of other people.

does God exist?

Yes.
But he/she/it got tired of the telemarketers, spam, and junk mail.

is there a multiverse?

Of course.
Universitality is a spectrum, not an absolute.
So you have heteroverse, homoverse, and multiverse.

what does a blackhole actually contain?

Hole's don't contain anything.
If it contained anything it would be a black sack.
Or a black purse.
And god doesn't wear shoes.
You can't wear a black purse without the right shoes.

are there different dimensions as some claim?

Based on extensive studying of cartoons, rulers, and comic books there seems to be at least 3.

is the soul for real?

Based on a documentary I saw the soul is for real.
It has its own plane and lots of restaurants.

what was god doing before he created the universe

Working for "the man."
But he got tired of the ratrace, so became self employed.
And in his garage working with some wonking he made the universe.
Then he came out with updated versions.
But they sucked and are full of bugs and security nightmares.
He makes too much on the patent to allow open sourcing, although doctors, scientists, scientologists, governments, and philosophers try.

One at a time, dude.

Q: "why is there something rather than nothing?"

A: Only if there's "something," can that "something" ask questions that don't require answers. If there was "nothing," you wouldn't exist. MAYBE even this forum wouldn't be here, but somehow I get the feeling there would still be advertising.

Q: "does God exist?"

A: Also doesn't matter, given that the definition of "God" is that he/she/it/they/them are omni-everything. After all, IF God is as described, knowing it wont improve your chances with [it]. Be you, and cross your fingers.

Q: "is there a multiverse?"

A: Doesn't matter until there are taxis or other transportation that can get you there. So stop spending time about it. Trust me, you can get just as good a discount at Walmart, as you will in Alternate Reality 4uw9.77b

Q: "what does a blackhole actually contain?"

A: You have to be more specific with this. Exactly which black hole are you referring to? Each one "contains" what used to be nearby before they swallowed it. Wish there was one that ate snow.

Q: "are there different dimensions as some claim?"

A: Yes. There's height, width, and depth. Depending on how you define "dimension," there could be more, such as time, as well. Current rumor has it that the reason why some scientists are now claiming that there are even more dimensions than that, has to do with explaining where their funding actually went, when April 15th rolls around.

Q: "is the soul for real?"

A: again, specificity is your friend.

Q: "what was god doing before he created the universe (if at all he/she's the one who created?)"

A: Apparently not reading up on "How to Create a Perfect Universe in Six Easy Steps."

guys, thanks for taking time reply. looks like these forums are not to be taken seriously, is that the protocol in mingle2? cos im new here.

though, i liked most of the answers you guys came up with, very witty ones, yes, but on a serious note, is there anyone else who has the same questions as I do?

if yes, i'd very much appreciate if you could share some links/sites/experiences/intellectually stimulating arguments etc..

i NEED to sort this out in this life time.

just an fyi, here's a recent article i read that fascinated me.

Okay, seriously, the questions you've asked are a mix of basic science information questions (such as what's in black holes), and others that are pure religion or philosophy.

Most of the larger philosophical questions are NEVER completely answered, because there's no way anyone can confirm anything. They can only earnestly believe.

The reason why I answered somewhat facetiously, is because of that. And because any serious answers which I have personally found in sixty two years, really only apply to me. You have to find your own.

I would caution you, that the greatest danger to someone who DOES anxiously want these kinds of questions to be answered seriously and completely, is that they will find someone who WILL tell them that they KNOW the answers. since it is impossible to ACTUALLY know, that means that if you accept what they say, you will only be making yourself subservient to another human, not finding the truth that you actually seek.

that's profound man! i completely understand what you mean here.. but curiosity is something innate to humans isn't it?

we never stop, do we?

anyway, thanks for your interest and wisdom!

Question.....The universe seems to be endless.... (Last Page 2)

The above is a forum were all the M2 deep brains hang-out. I think they are close to everything in space time.

-nothing is something
-why would the universe need a boundary? ur human so ur programmed to think a boundary would exist yet its infinite...infinity suggests no boundary
-physics would suggest many multiverses, so many that some "overlap" creating some strange plane...think shadow realms or some such thing
-black holes would contain matter being torn apart that's been pulled in thru the event horizon, check out "black hole expulsions"
-if you believe in multiverse theory then multiple dimensions exist as well
-there's no evidence of a soul, however we don't understand what life really is and if you go by some of the accounts of past life regressions then perhaps that's evidence of a soul
-pointless question, there's no existence before our known existence

concepts such as god are a fabrication of human fantasy and fears, religion's origins are based upon a fear of mortality...if u read Genesis Revisited you might wonder if we're just an extraterrestrial science experiment... Christianity by itself is nothing but a conglomeration of stolen pagan ideologies

life is but a step upon an endless staircase, pondering the whys and hows just causes headaches...although it offers some amusement but ultimately more questions than answers

If you go back in time and look at the science forums here, you will find serious discussion on all your topics and much, much, more.

Black holes contain what formed them plus what they have since eaten. They also contain distorted space/time if you consider the event horizon as a type of boundary.

There are other dimensions.

The belief in God is up to the believer.

There is no "why", only "is" and "is not" exists.

Something vs nothing? See answer above.

why are we here?

if we keep God (and religion) aside
then some partial answer could be in: evolution.

still ongoing, isn't it?

"will you walk a little faster?" said a whittling
to a snail,
There's a porpoise close behind us,
and he's treading on my tail."

Lewis Carroll,
Alice in Wonderland

i think we are treading on the tail of AI
(but on looking back a hundred years from now,
today's g_child may say, "it is the other way around")

and one may laugh today as if this were a Hollywood dream:
the symbiosis: AI enhanced natural man

but OP's question will not go away; a 1000 years from now.

A CONVERSATION for Introduction To Philosophy students - enjoy

An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the Problem
Science has with GOD , the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his New
Students to stand and . . .

Professor :Do you Believe in GOD ?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD Good ?
Student : Sure.
Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL ?
Student : Yes.
Professor : My Brother died of Cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal
him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't.
How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent )

Professor : You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, Young fella.
Is GOD Good?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Is Satan good ?
Student : No.
Professor : Where does Satan come from ?
Student : From . . . GOD . . .
Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything.
Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor : So who created evil ?

(Student did not answer)

Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these
terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, who created them ?

(Student had no answer)

Professor : Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe
the world around you. Tell me, son . . . Have you ever seen GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?
Student : No , sir.
Professor : Have you ever felt your GOD, tasted your GOD , smelt your GOD ?
Have you ever had any sensory perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor : Yet you still believe in HIM?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science
says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.
Professor : Yes, faith. And that is the problem science has.

Student asks and professor answers
Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Professor : Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as cold?
Professor : Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't,

(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events )

Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega
Heat, white Heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't have anything
called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we
can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is
only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure
cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the
absence of it.

(There was pin-drop silence in the Lecture Theatre )

Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Professor : Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something.
You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light . . but if
you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness,
isn't it? In reality, darkness isn't. If it is, you would be able
to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?

Professor : So what is the point you are making, Young Man ?
Student : Sir, my point is your Philosophical premise is
flawed.
Professor : Flawed ? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is
life and then there is death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are viewing the
concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science
can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has
never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the
opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a
substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of
it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved
from a monkey?
Professor : If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes,
of course, I do.

Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the
argument was going)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work
and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not
teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?

(The class was in uproar )

Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the professor's
brain?

(The class broke out into laughter)

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain,
felt it, touched or smelt it? . . .No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face
unfathomable)

Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.
Student : That is it sir . . . exactly ! The link between MAN & GOD is
FAITH. That is all that keeps things alive and moving.

That student was Albert Einstein. :relieved:
