I agree with you.

For two years, I have been hoping, for their sake, they say 'f@ck you all & get out, we'll eat cheese & bread, we did it before & we'll do it again"

Actually surprised we voted to leave, i thought we might keep the status quo.
But we've voted to leave and go our own way again, a massive leap into the unknown for many of us, predictions aplenty but no one will truly know what is going to happen.

Let's hope we've done the right thing.

Britain is going to come out smelling like a rose ... but it may be a while before the rose blooms. Ten billion in EU taxes will go to other uses, less immigration, higher security, and a more cohesive national identity will win the day.

"What they wished for, didn’t work: “A multicultural, international, non-religious, borderless unity where all ethnic groups live together in a god-less society where utopia finally is reached as traditional culture is no more.” This was the Marxist dream." noway

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ideas_of_European_unity_before_1945

The idea of European unity is a historically recent concept.

The name Europe originally referred to only the south-eastern part of the continent, in the same way that Asia originally referred to western Anatolia, and Africa referred to the northern portion of the African continent. It was the Greek civilisation that first used these names in their modern senses.

The first proposal for peacefully unifying Europe against a common enemy emerged after the Fall of Constantinople to the Turks in 1453. George of Podebrady, a Hussite king of Bohemia, proposed in 1464 a union of European, Christian nations against the Turks.[1] However, his proposal was based on the nations' shared religious ideology, and there is no evidence that he viewed their common geographic location as particularly significant.[citation needed]

The Frankish Empire of Charlemagne and the Holy Roman Empire united large areas of Germany, Italy, and France under a loose administration for hundreds of years without articulating an idea of European unity. However, the concept of a Europe made up of those parts of the continent occupied by Germanic peoples had become common by the 19th century, as is evidenced in Russian philosopher Danilevsky's Russia and Europe. The idea of Germany and Europe being coterminous was taken to its fateful conclusion by Adolf Hitler.

Pre-Napoleon
William Penn, an American colonist, proposed a European Parliament to prevent war

In 1693, William Penn looked at the devastation of war in Europe and wrote of a "European dyet, or parliament", to prevent further war, without further defining how such an institution would fit into the political reality of Europe at the time.[3]

In 1728, Abbot Charles de Saint-Pierre proposed the creation of a European league of 18 sovereign states, with common treasury, no borders and an economic union. After the American War of Independence the vision of a United States of Europe, similar to the United States of America, was shared by a few prominent Europeans, notably the Marquis de Lafayette and Tadeusz Kościuszko.

Some suggestion of a European union can be inferred from Immanuel Kant's 1795 proposal for an "eternal peace congress".

But what actually came about is a total Farce!

Scotland is (still) part of the UK and so is included in BREXIT.

That said, the Scottish government's view is that as all voting districts in Scotland voted to remain (a total of 62% remain, 38% leave), they want another referendum on Scottish independence so they can stay in the EU.

Ha! The news this weekend was that the EU wants GB out NOW! ... no fiddle faddling around! ... which actually makes a lot of sense. Long drawn out divorces are painful.

It's up to the UK when article 50 is triggered and no one else.

Hopefully we will take our time, let things settle down and then trigger it.

We should do what's best for the UK, not listen to what Brussels say.

Personally I think all the alarmists and fear mongers' have, and still are, overstating the downside to the UK leaving the EU.

IMO
The UK will still trade with other countries in and out of the EU.
The UK will still have the same allies they have now.
The UK currency will come back from the knee jerk reaction to this.
The market value of UK stocks will come back from the knee jerk reaction to this.
There are short term negatives...I think they will be VERY short term. The long term changes from this that can be achieved by not having rules and regulation dictated by unelected bureaucrats in Brussels can overwhelmingly benefit the Brits.....but ONLY if they continue to reject leaders who embrace globalism even when it's detrimental to nationalism.

Todays market results.

The FTSE 100 finished up 2.64% or 158.19 points at 6140.39
Germany’s Dax added 1.93% to 9447.28
France’s Cac closed 2.61% higher at 4088.85
Italy’s FTSE MIB rose 3.3% to 15601.62
Spain’s Ibex ended up 2.48% at 7835.0
In Greece, the Athens market added 3.72% to 538.65
The pound is up 0.9% at $1.3342 after climbing as high as $1.3418.

DJIA 17409.72 up 269.48 1.57%
NASDAQ 4691.87 up 97.42 2.12%
S&P 500 2036.09 up 35.55 1.78%

Why aren't the doomsday prognosticators in the media and political arena talking about the gains today the way they talked about losses due to the Brexit?
