Gotta love the Brits who voted against and if such a referendum is held in Belgium I too would vote "Out"! Member-nations should not be subject to non-sensical tyrannical laws voted by unelected unrepresentative foreign officials.

Delighted. Now to make our own laws and then some.

I think people just got sick of the constant meddling from Brussels by the unelected few, and Merkel.

I never understood why the UK handed its sovereignty over to the EU in the first place.

Thanks matey, a real opportunity to shine in the world again.

I couldn't believe the remain campaign of doom and gloom, they must have forgotten that we are British, I'm not saying we're the best, but we are certainly up there.
Project hope instead of project fear

Thanks again.

It'll be a VERY rocky road for the British but they now have a head start over all the other countries in the EU, sooner or later it's going to fail.

Mark Carney is a good man, he'll do what needs to be done

Personally I think all the alarmists and fear mongers' have, and still are, overstating the downside to the UK leaving the EU.

IMO
The UK will still trade with other countries in and out of the EU.
The UK will still have the same allies they have now.
The UK currency will come back from the knee jerk reaction to this.
The market value of UK stocks will come back from the knee jerk reaction to this.
There are short term negatives...I think they will be VERY short term. The long term changes from this that can be achieved by not having rules and regulation dictated by unelected bureaucrats in Brussels can overwhelmingly benefit the Brits.....but ONLY if they continue to reject leaders who embrace globalism even when it's detrimental to nationalism.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/05/10/eu-to-launch-kettle-and-toaster-crackdown-after-brexit-vote2/

"The EU is poised to ban high-powered appliances such as kettles, toasters, hair-dryers within months of Britain’s referendum vote, despite senior officials admitting the plan has brought them “ridicule”.

The European Commission plans to unveil long-delayed ‘ecodesign’ restrictions on small household appliances in the autumn. They are expected to ban the most energy-inefficient devices from sale in order to cut carbon emissions.

The plans have been ready for many months, but were shelved for fear of undermining the referendum campaign if they were perceived as an assault on the British staples of tea and toast.

A sales ban on high-powered vacuum cleaners and inefficient electric ovens in 2014 sparked a public outcry in Britain.

EU officials have been instructed to immediately warn their senior managers of any issues in their portfolios that relate to the UK and could boost the Leave campaign were they to become public."

hmmmm Makes me wonder what is within the framework of the Paris agreement at the "United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change" that wasn't made public by Obama and his administration. Will we be able to keep our vacuum cleaners, hair dryers and toaster ovens if we like them the same way we could keep our health insurance if we liked it?????

'Now get out!’ Start Clause 50 exit process NOW, EU chiefs urge UK

Clause 50?

Clause 50 is a part of the EU’s Lisbon Treaty, which covers the potential exit of a member. However, the rule is untested, with Britain being the first member to attempt to leave.

Triggering the clause puts into motion a two-year process during which time an exit will be negotiated.

The process is by no means guaranteed to be smooth, or even happen at all. Each national parliament of the remaining 27 EU states will debate the issue and each has a veto. An exit is also at the mercy of a further national ratification process by each state.

Despite the urgent tone of the EU chief’s statement, a further renegotiation of trade could take upwards of five years, as substantial negotiating teams on each side thrash out the whole process.

The UK does have an option to withdraw unilaterally, but this may prejudice any favorable trade settlement the country tried to reach with former EU partners.

The Brexit contagion: How France, Italy and the Netherlands now want their referendum too

Voters in France, Italy and the Netherlands are demanding their own votes on European Union membership and the euro, as the continent faces a “contagion” of referendums.

EU leaders fear a string of copycat polls could tear the organisation apart, as leaders come under pressure to emulate David Cameron and hold votes.

It came as German business leaders handed a considerable boost to the Leave campaign by saying it would be “very, very foolish” to deny the UK a free trade deal after Brexit.

Markus Kerber, the head of the BDI, which represents German industry, said that 1970s-style trade barriers would result in job losses in Germany.

“Imposing trade barriers, imposing protectionist measures between our two countries – or between the two political centres, the European Union on the one hand and the UK on the other – would be a very, very foolish thing in the 21st century.”

In Italy, the anti-establishment Five Star movement on Tuesday declared it would demand a referendum on the euro. The party wants the euro to be split – one for the rich north and one for the south.

Beppe Grillo, the party’s leader, has called for a full referendum on EU membership. He said: “The mere fact that a country like Great Britain is holding a referendum on whether to leave the EU signals the failure of the European Union.”

Five Star won 19 out of 20 mayoral elections on Sunday, including in Rome and Turin, in a major blow to Matteo Renzi, the Prime Minister.

In France, Marine Le Pen, the Front National leader, last night called for France to have its own referendum on the “decaying” EU. “I would vote for Brexit, even if I think that France has a thousand more reasons to leave than the UK,” she said.

In the Netherlands, polls show a majority of voters want a referendum on membership, and voters are evenly split over whether to stay or go.

Over 100,000 sign petition calling for UK

Despite being set up hours after the result, the petition has already reached its goal of over 100,000 signatures. This means that it must be considered for debate within parliament within a year.

Refugees will not disappear whatever the Brexit vote outcome

The EU handling of the migrant crisis has formed a major contributing factor in rising Euroskepticism.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage publicly shared his contempt for the crisis just last week while presenting a Vote Leave poster featuring a mass of refugees and the words “Breaking Point.”

Arguing “the EU has failed us all,” Farage emphasizing the UK must “take back control” of its borders.

Glad you're glad! My friends aren't. I am VERY happy. So happy that I felt like hanging my Union Jack out the window, hahaha.
*Yes I got a Union Jack, love it!*
I am thrilled, finally things are going to change. And maybe some other countries will wake up too when they see the UK manages on their own. May take a bit, but you will.
So big thumbs up from me!!

Actually surprised we voted to leave, i thought we might keep the status quo.
But we've voted to leave and go our own way again, a massive leap into the unknown for many of us, predictions aplenty but no one will truly know what is going to happen.

Let's hope we've done the right thing.
