Why aren't the doomsday prognosticators in the media and political arena talking about the gains today the way they talked about losses due to the Brexit?

I'm sure the market will be quite volatile for a few weeks...up n down but it the end Britain will be stronger and the global socialists much weaker!
It should be noted when the market crashed the 600points not too many media people talked about the 300 point rise the day before in anticipation of the vote...the market is a playground, a high stakes casino for the rich and has little to do with real market indicators like it use to be 15-20 years ago.

This shows how Wall Street(the big backers of Clinton) don't give a damn about the hows and whys, they create a panic and then swoop in for the big bargains and make a fortune off the market on the backs of middle class who hold 401k's.
I guess they have a lot more money now to give to Hillary's slush fundohwell

EU to Britain: No access to single market without migration

BRUSSELS (AP) — European Union leaders spelled out stark conditions for a new relationship with a departing Britain on Wednesday, warning that if British business wants to keep access to Europe's single market, the country must accept European workers, too.

The leaders produced no clear rehaul for their shaken union after an unusual and emotionally charged summit, but agreed they must make it more relevant to citizens and keep it from disintegrating after Britain's unprecedented vote to leave. The 27 remaining presidents, chancellors and prime ministers said they're "absolutely determined to remain united," EU Council President Donald Tusk said.

They met without British Prime Minister David Cameron, who left Brussels on Tuesday night without any clear divorce plan, fending off pressure for a quick exit and punting the complex departure negotiations to his successor. In Britain, nominations opened Wednesday for a new Conservative leader to replace him after his devastating political miscalculation in calling last week's referendum.

Other EU leaders warned the U.K. that if it wants to continue to enjoy the seamless single market after its departure, it would also have to accept that EU citizens can continue to enter Britain. That's the crux of the current tensions: Britain's "leave" vote hinged on concerns about migration from poorer EU countries.

The leaders emerged from Wednesday's summit insisting that the "four freedoms" central to European unity are indivisible: the free movement of people, services, goods and finances.

Tusk convened a special EU summit on Sept. 16 in Slovakia's capital to work out a plan forward to keep the EU united. There's a widespread sense that the post-war project to foster peace via trade has become a bureaucratic, undemocratic behemoth with little meaning for its 500 million citizens. The initial EU founding nations in the west lean toward a tighter, closer union, while newer nations in the east want to keep more control with national governments — notably of their borders.

To allow the status quo to continue, French President Francois Hollande warned, would benefit populist forces that seek "the end of Europe." France is among EU countries now facing calls for referendums on quitting the bloc, mainly from the far right.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the lesson from Britain's departure isn't necessarily either deeper integration or returning more powers to national governments. She said Wednesday: "this is not about more or less Europe as a principle, but about achieving results better." She said that combating youth unemployment, for example, could involve both scrapping EU directives and deepening European cooperation.

"The coming weeks will be decisive," Hollande said. "Europe must show its solidity."

However the 27 remaining EU members remain divided over how to deal with immigration. Central European nations led by Hungary refuse to accept imposed EU refugee quotas, and countries further north have all tightened border controls in response to the arrival of more than 1 million migrants last year. Britain is more concerned about EU immigration, since its strong economy draws hundreds of thousands of workers from other EU nations.

The shock British vote has roiled markets and will rob the EU of its richest financial market, biggest military power and a diplomatic giant. It could also prompt an unraveling of the U.K.

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon met Wednesday in Brussels with European Parliament President Martin Schulz and is meeting later with the leader of the EU executive, Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. Scottish voters overwhelmingly chose to remain in the European Union but were drowned out by English voters. Sturgeon has indicated there may be a new referendum on Scottish independence.

"It was a good opportunity for me to set out Scotland's position and Scotland's desire to remain within the European Union and to protect our relationship with the European Union," Sturgeon said after meeting Schulz. She added: "I don't underestimate the challenges that lie ahead for us seeking to find a path."

Hollande insisted the EU will make no advance deal with Scotland.

Watching Britain's turmoil, Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel said, "With a disunited United Kingdom, we need a united Europe more than ever."

In London, nominations opened Wednesday to replace Cameron as leader of the Conservative Party, with Work and Pensions Secretary Stephen Crabb the first official contender. Former London Mayor Boris Johnson and Home Secretary Theresa May are also expected to run.

The economic fallout from the vote has been severe. Ratings agency Fitch expects growth and investment in Britain to fall next year due to uncertainty over the European Union exit. Some businesses are putting investments on hold and Fitch said "there is little doubt that the U.K. referendum vote in favor of leaving the EU will take a significant toll on the economy."

Vodafone, one of Britain's biggest companies, will consider moving its group headquarters because of the vote. The company, which says a majority of its customers are in other EU countries, said in a statement Wednesday that EU membership had been an important factor in its growth, and that free movement of people, goods and capital were integral to any pan-European business.

"This is the world's fifth-biggest economy and 15 to 17 percent of the European Union's gross domestic product, and if this country leaves the internal market .... then of course that will be a difficult situation," Merkel said.

Who’s Next to Leave? EU Fears an Epidemic of 'Exits' After UK Brexit Vote / Sputnik International

Several eurosceptic political parties across Europe are now calling for EU membership votes in their countries, which may result in over 30 referendums on various issues in the coming years, a report by the European Council on Foreign Relations read.

"It's really clear that some of the themes we saw coming out in the UK referendum campaign are prevalent across EU states," the author of the report, Susi Dennison told BBC Radio.

"Although a lot of the parties that we looked at were founded on domestic issues, the impact of the refugee crisis, the austerity agenda in Europe and so on, is leading these parties to develop quite a strong foreign policy which is really challenging some of the basic tenets of the European post-war consensus," she added.

According to her, the referendums could cover a wide range of issues, from a country’s membership in the EU to the refugee crisis.

Dennison explained that European "insurgent" parties are drawing inspiration from the achievements of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) after the British vote.

Brussels wants the UK to withdraw as quickly as possible, in a bid to curb the spread of "-exits" across the bloc, an article on Euronews read.

British political analyst Ian Bond said that a lot will now depend on what happens to Britain.

"You don’t want to make it look too attractive in the outside world. I think the Boris Johnson approach that 'I’m pro cake and pro eating it' is just not going to fly, European leaders are going to say — well you have a choice, it’s a binary choice, and that’s that," he said in an interview.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage said that Brexit may start a surge of euroscepticism across the EU.

"Eurosceptic parties never talked about leaving the EU, now they are. An opinion poll in the Netherlands said that a majority there now want to leave, so we may well be close perhaps to Nexit. And I'm told the same may apply to Sweden and perhaps Austria and perhaps even Italy too. The EU is failing, the EU is dying," Farage told journalists.

The Netherlands may be the next country to vote on leaving the EU. According to recent polls, 47 percent of its citizens are positive about country’s withdrawal from the bloc. Geert Wilders, leader of the Dutch Party for Freedom, plans to use this in his election campaign.

Recently, Wilders met with French right-wing politician Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Front Party. Le Pen is known for her active support for France leaving the EU.

The so-called "Frexit" has been actively discussed in France after the results of the British vote were revealed. Le Pen was quick to propose a referendum on France’s membership in the EU.

"I'll be Madame Frexit if the European Union doesn't give us back our monetary, legislative, territorial and budget sovereignty," Le Pen said.

"There's a very strong group that have watched what UKIP have achieved in terms of hijacking the mainstream agenda in the UK and are very keen to take that forward in their own countries," Susi Dennison noted.

According to the report, those parties play a direct role in the national government of eight EU member states and hold 1,329 seats in 25 countries.

"These parties could act as a significant block in upcoming EU Council plans for a migration compact with neighboring transit countries and many will oppose the extension of Russia sanctions beyond the summer," it read.

The UK’s decision to leave the EU is an impulse for real renewal of the bloc, Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka said after arriving at the EU summit.

"We need to reaffirm the benefits of European integration for growth and security in Europe. We need to make the EU ideas more attractive for people," he said.

He also noted that what is most important is to prevent chaos and cracks within the bloc.

The prime minister supported a proposal to hold a meeting of the European Council to discuss changes to the EU policy.

"A new plan of relations between the EU and Britain is needed. We should take into account that a lot of Britons want their country to stay in the EU," Sobotka added.

The rebound from the Brexit effect on the DOW was even faster than I thought.

Pre-Brexit close on 6/23 18011

Post Brexit lowest close on 6/27 17140

Close yesterday 6/30 17930 and up slightly today....hitting 18000 before falling back a bit.

The fear mongers' and alarmists were pointing to losses in retirement accounts of around 4K that was hurting Americans.....the only people who got hurt are the people who had a knee jerk reaction to the Brexit effect, who didn't follow the "buy low/sell high" fundamental rule of investing.
The smart invertor took money that was on the "sideline" and bought during the short lived downturn.

First David Cameron says he'll resign in October. Then Boris Johnson & now Nigel Farage.

Losing Farage is a really BAD sign of things to come. IMO spock

Nigel Farage announced Monday that he’s resigning as leader of the UK Independence Party more than a week after Britain voted to leave the European Union. Farage said he will continue to support the movement, but he had done his bit and will stand down.
