If you had the opportunity.....?

You could go home see family and friends, save money and buy an rv to travel or.....

You could stay where you are gain amazing references, cater, and teach cooking self employed out at a military base and take a little.longer to still realize your retirement which would you do?

I would take different decision and start new life at a third place different and far from the two ones mentioned above

I would save money and travel. I don't need to think about that for more than 5 seconds.

Save more money,by travelling home to see family and friends every four years, instead of every two years...

How do you save $ by going home? Do you mean to live with
family, save the $ then buy and RV and see the country?

Or, live independently from them, take longer to save the
$ to buy the RV and see the country?

End goal same?

I would say, do your traveling when you are most fit, you
never know when you might no longer be able to.

Sooner the better.

No but I would be living on a family property for cheaper. And I have connections already formed for employment there.

I think I would follow my heart and my gut instinct and the thing that would make me the happiest no matter what other people may think. Which one would give you the most joy? bigsmile

So tis a time question.
Go now, goal reached sooner.
Stay where you are, no harm no foul.

That'll work. As long as they give me tax breaks.

According to Scott Adams the cartoonist that created Dilbert.
The goal is secondary to the system you create to achieve any goal.

So I would say create the system that is most satisfying in reaching your goal.

You have set out two options is it not possible to do both to some degree?

I would choose number 3. Teach cooking , gain references, stay put. Cooking is truly a skill, everyone can cook but to be able to cook for a group of people is very hard. The timing, the knowledge, the skills it takes is amazing. The real question is how much enjoyment do you get from teaching?

Me too. Neither appeal to me, apart from travelling, but at some point you'd still wanna go home, to your own place with your own stuff and enjoy that to the max.
But I do not have the intention to stay in this home. It's my home for now, but not really 'my home'.

Age tends to sneak up on ya very quickly. Enjoy the moment the best you can, but always plan for the future.

I would live on property, save money, buy rv and travel, travel, travel. But this comes from someone who rarely spends more than a year in one place.

I agree. Do all the travelling you want, and definitely before the medications you will need, out weigh your normal luggage...ha ha..

I'm not sure what I would do.
I do think more experiences out on your own and that can help develop you.
