It depends on a few things:
1) What diet are you on
2) How long do you exercise
3) How often do you workout
4) What intensity are you working out at

Rest days are important so do not neglect those either, but no more than 2 days if you can help it. Notice number 1 though, that's very important.

Weight loss can be difficult, you can't expect results over night. It also depends on how much you want to lose. It takes 4 weeks of regular exercise and clean eating for someone else to notice results and it takes a good 8 weeks to see the change yourself. You can't spot reduce. The best advice I can give is that, on top of jogging, start some light weight training, building muscle is going to help reduce the fat cells. A 10lb kettlebell to use with squats, do lunges..etc.
Jogging and running (short or long distance) is great for cardio, but won't do much for fat loss in the long run. a good combination of the two works really well.

depending on how active you were previously, it's best to start out light and build from there so you avoid injury.

also, previous poster is right, rest days are extremely important. make sure your muscles have time to recover.

//Runner for just over 2 years, lost just over 102 lbs in 5 years.

simple formula: 80% quality food intake + 20% quality exercise (work out) = Proper (safe) weight loss

This could take some weeks or months depending on your discipline and goal. A simple running and excessive sweating will not help that much. Build your muscles so that you can still eat the foods you want while maintaining a good body weight.

I like the advice in this forum. Is there any left for me? I love working out (boot camp, weight training, Elliptical dancing, hiking, etc) but I love food too. I cut a lot of junk but still like one glass of wine on the weekend, tasty foods that excite me and healthy desserts every now & then (chocolate).

kc as long as you don't over indulge and keep to a healthy balance then keep right on enjoying food.
on that side the best thing is to avoid the chemicals and and such.more all natural or organic when ever you can

Calories in Vs Calories out. As long as your body is in a caloric deficit, you will lose weight.

Eat more, but smaller portions more often. Breakfast is important.

Most brown food has good carbs, as oppose to white mostly the wrong carbs.
Brown bread, brown rice, brown pasta, or whole grain/wheat.

You lose more weight walking than running, you need the right heart rate for the best results. A treadmill will ask for weight and age, it will calculate your perfect heart rate, it will be a brisk walk.

You’re welcome.

Floor exercise is more effective for losing fats (planking, push up, sit ups) etc. Make the exercise difficult but doable. Climbing up the stairs with two bottle of equal weight in your both hand can be a good exercise too.. also the jump rope. (Change the exercise after 3 months)

I suggest if you also do that in the morning after waking up just drink water (preferably warm) before during and after the exercise. Have some exercise first like 15-30 mins before eatig breakfast. And on your breakfast eat protein rich food as much as possible...

Build muscles.. muscles burn fats even when you are sleeping.

Eat foods with lesser calorie (fruits, veggies, protein rich food, lesser in carb and oily foods, no soda and no junk food.

When you crave, you can still eat but learn how to control. Don't over eat and remind yourself of your goal.

Have a rest day too like once a week where you can eat any (but don't eat to much..)

Healthy foods, exercise plus enough sleep are the key to losing fats. Never starve yourself. Ok :ok_hand:

Usually it takes 2 months or more before you can see a result but keep doing it.. be patient.. some things take time

I am fatter before until now i need to lose fats but people in my place notice the big difference already..

I know you can do that :blush::blush:
